After setting up 4 drives in Raid-5, and waiting for the synchronization to complete, I ran Black Magic speed test on the array and got over 600 MB/s writes and 450 MB/s reads! Love the options for expansion - should be able to upgrade to larger HDDs as my needs increase. The Pegasus software utility is great - easy to understand and powerful... complete control over the disks, arrays, and logical drives. Comes with 2-year factory warranty (I called Promise to verify this). Cons: Mine arrived with 1 bad drive. A few hours into the synchronization, I was alerted to the bad drive. I have contacted them about the bad drive, but since it is the weekend, I haven't heard back yet... we'll see how they respond to the problem (I want them to immediately drop a replacement drive in the mail). When you setup a new array, the synchronizing process takes a VERY LONG TIME. Just be patient... the drive can still be used while synchronizing. And the sync happens in the background.
