BIOS compatibility issues
This review is from: Adaptec 2250300-R PCIe x 1 MD2 low-profile SCSI Host Bus Adapter (29320LPE Kit)
Pros: Adaptec products have always made me happy. This one, when it works, works as promised. Native Linux support made installing Ubuntu 9.04 a snap. With my good ol' 10k RPM U320 drive, you really feel the speed.
Cons: Here's the sad part: BIOS compatibility. I upgraded both the Mobo BIOS (EVGA X58 SLI) and the latest BIOS extension from Adaptec. Had to tweak the INT13 settings and disable some devices (i.e. freeing IRQs) to get it to -not always- boot. That's disappointing but it's 50/50 controller/mobo fault. I hope to get some support from EVGA and/or Adaptec
