5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine so far...

Pros: Does what is says. I'm using this to make better use of a SATA II drive with a motherboard that only supports SATA I. Windows XP Professional.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you can't find it on NewEgg, you can probably live without it.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Adds SATA 3.0 hard drive to your computer without a problem.

Cons: Was never able to do a fresh install on my SSD using this card, had constant freezes during windows 7 installation. Must have been the card since installation worked on the first try using my onboard SATA 2.0.

Other Thoughts: Since I have no use for this card if I cant install windows on it it was completly useless to me.
Driver installation is sketchy.

1 out of 5 eggsWill not work for me

Pros: Nice looking card.

Cons: Installed card. Windows 7 Ultimate system would not boot. Had BSOD with Hardware Malfunction Error message. Removed card and now system boots normally.

Other Thoughts: Looks like I have a defective card and now it will cost me $8.00 to ship it back to Newegg. Should have bought it locally.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Asus P5Q Pro Turbo

Pros: Simple upgrade to get a port or two of SATA III goodness. Good deal while on 'sale'. I got 5 for my Q6600/P45 systems. Having one internal and one external port is a rare bonus.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Based off of the Marvell 9123 chipset. Beware that if placed in a 1-lane PCIe 'gen 2' you may see just 1/2 of max bandwidth (as on my Asus P5Q Pro Turbo board, P45 based) but if put in the 16-lane I had saw the full bandwidth. I also tried two of these on the 1-lane going to 2TB Seagate 'desktop RAID' externals and was able to use Window's (2008 R2 server) dynamic setup for a quick RAID 0 that worked fairly well.

1 out of 5 eggsNo work with Asus bios

Pros: cheap, fast

Cons: doesn't work with my MB

Other Thoughts: also, too much work to debug - disc was avail then would disappear in the middle of a format, ASUS doc very sketchy on this..upgrade MB first!

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Both hardware and driver Installation is simple.

Cons: PC runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Attached to Themaltake BlacXDuet Dual Hard Drives Docking Station via SATA. The card BIOS recognize one of two hard drives in the docking station. i) With boot disk in the docking station alone, the system boots ok. ii) With boot disk + data disk in the docknig system, the system does not boot and reset itself. iii) System boots from internal boot disk with two data disks in the docking system. However, Windows does not recognize both data disks in the docking station.

5 out of 5 eggsNow I can hotswap eSATA!!

Pros: With this card I can now HOT SWAP my eSATA drives. I have a dual dock and with this card I can use two drives via eSATA. With the motherboard eSATA the dual dock was useless unless using USB2.0.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I bought this for use with a STARTECH STARDOCK22RE. The 22RE is not only a dual dock but can copy hard drives. Without this card it was useless as a eSATA dock.
