Pros: This server was essentially plug and play. CPU, memory, RAID jumpers were a breeze. Server 2008 loaded in about 10 minutes. My server was installed in the colo within 2 hours of receiving the shipment. Pretty Happy. Don't forget the rails from the ASUS estore.
Cons: The slim DVD power connector. I gave up on finding the correct power converter (4 pin floppy molex to SATA) so I used an external usb DVD. ASUS wasn't much help.

Good way to go for quick servers

Pros: About as easy you can get making a rack mountable server.
Cons: You have to find the rail mounts else where. I would have rather just got everything from newegg.
The rail mount part number is 90-S00SP0030T and I found the best price seemed to be directly from Asus estore.
Other Thoughts: Running with CPU INTEL XEON X3220 I also bought from newegg and 4 gigs of Ram from some where else.

small but packed

Pros: small box. got some 3.5" to 2x 2.5" (SATA35252X) adaptors and shoved 4x 500gb sata laptop drives in there attached to an areca sata raid card. per the asus website put a q9400 in there, as their website lists it as compatible, called and confirmed it as well. will find out when it gets powered on tonight if it works ;) 8gb of ram and vmware ESX4i on a USB key. worked like a champ in the last one of these i did with a xeon 3360. the dual nic's is great!
Cons: no rails. defeats the purpose of a "rack mount" too heavy for just the ears.
Other Thoughts: fan shroud is a little hokey. ive got a RS100-X5/PI2 as well, and that one is much more solid. like everyone has said, get the right bios. loud loud loud otherwise :P
