The RS100-E8-PI2 is ready for new-generation Intel® Xeon® 22nm processors, which deliver a significant performance improvement over previous generations of CPUs.

The RS100-E8-PI2 delivers excellent noise mitigation (the lowest at 30dB inidle mode) which is lower than the noise output of an average projector (at 42dB). It also ships with an 80 PLUS Bronze power supply to reduce power loss and power consumption, helping consumers save on energy bills.

Flexible Implementation Options in a Compact Rack Form Factor

Optimized User Experience Design
A front VGA port provides greater convenience and flexibility, allowing customers to connect a monitor from the front. There is also an "asset tag" on every RS100-E8-PI2 for better identification within a server cluster. ASUS further furnishes several choices for OS drive placement, such as SSD and SATA DOM cages, plus internal Type A USB.

Comprehensive Remote Management
ASUS presents the most complete remote server control, including out of band ASMB7-iKVM and in-band ASWM Enterprise. Out-of-band ASMB7-iKVM offers LAN management, while in-band ASWM Enterprise provides "one on many" usage. IT professionals don't have to check servers one by one, but instead can use ASWM Enterprise to monitor the status of all servers from a friendly graphical user interface.

Pros: Great server with lots of features like remote management and on board RAID.

Cons: For the price of this unit there should be none but the only think i can think about is that it does not have dual power supply units. Not like I expected at this price point.

Other Thoughts: Amazing brand and amazing box. Do not buy an i3 CPU as you will need to update the BIOS for those to work. A Xeon will work out the box.

Pros: Lightweight, fits to wall cabinets, fair price, quiet, comes with ASMB7 iKVM and DVD+R, rails and ears. Processor stay cool at 31 celsius, minimal heat emission.

Cons: Rails does not fit wall racks are too long, only one SSD can be installed without effort, no way to install second under DVD because not enough space for cables. Cannot get ASMB7 iKVM remote console to work (possible java issue).

Other Thoughts: My setup:

Pros: Perfect for home data centers.

Cons: Requires ECC memory. Only memory I found to work was http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820239370

Other Thoughts: Would be nice if it supported RDIMMs or non-ECC memory. This was documented as supports ECC but not requires. Found out the hardway.

Pros: Great size and foot print. !!

Cons: It came Crushed in the back of the server. I stretched it back into place and will be testing. Dont have time to wait for a ship back and replace.

Other Thoughts: Great deal if it works.
