Cons: Horrible Software. Would not find raid card in Vista 64. Multiple phone conversation with tech support could not resolve issue with software not working. Needed to run RAID 5 but could not because required software would not launch therefore no RAID 5. Had to return for refund and look else where. Tech support tried to up sell me to a better card for $ 150-200 more. Declined and returned.
Manufacturer Response:Sorry that the product does not workout for you. The RAID software for Vista64 could not run may due to the following:
1, Incorrect driver installed. 64bit vs 32bit or RAID/Base driver. 2, Java Application does not have permission to run.
A optional upgrade provide better performance and allow more than 5 drives in a single RAID.

Pros: VERY quiet. Solid build (for the price).
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: The only issue I have (and it's not REALLY an issue) is the esata seems like it may pull out easy. Other than that, I'm very happy with it. When ordering this I thought I may want to order a high quality fan at the same time to swap out, but I'm glad I didn't. I'm running 4 - 1tb drives and it's really cool and quiet.

Pros: 5-port hot-swappable RAID/JBOD enclosure with its own power and cooling fan. Nice long, solid eSATA cable, extra eSATA port for other devices (like a Thermaltake BlacX ST0005U External Hard Drive SATA Enclosure Docking Station, a godsend for PC techs like me). Easily slide drives in and out with the included racks.
Cons: The eSATA cable is solid, but a bit stiff and makes it hard to get the cable routed the way I need it. Because of this, the end never looks like it goes into the enclosure straight. The fan is noticeable. Didn't work very well at all with Phenom 9850 Black + Giga MA770-UD3R but works like a champ with the new Q9550 + Giga EP45-UD3P.
Other Thoughts: Never bothered with RAID, I use internal cards or onboard controllers for that. I needed something that could hold 4-5 drives for pure storage. I filled the thing with 2x 1TB and 2x 500GB, and still have a slot left. This allowed me to put 6x drives in RAID on the motherboard (ie inside the actual computer case) and still have massive storage abilities. Plus I can simply add an enclosure of just about any make for another 5 drives if and when what I have is no longer enough. I would easily purchase another for myself, and I have been recommending to friends/customers that are in need with limited case space.
