According to "lspci", it identifies as follows: RAID bus controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9480 SAS/SATA 6Gb/s RAID controller (rev 03) And it uses the bundled mvsas driver. It just works without any configuration. I have it connected to a SANS DIGITAL TR4X6G JBOD 4-bay storage enclosure. I have it configured as a linux mdadm raid array. This works great! Cons: None. Other Thoughts: I previously tried using the Highpoint Rocket 644L controller with 4 separate eSATA enclosures, but I could never get it to work. It is either extremely sensitive to cabling quality, or the controller card is buggy. There would be some kind of error talking to 1 disk, and then the whole array would get hosed. This works great!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I previously tried using the Highpoint Rocket 644L controller with 4 separate eSATA enclosures, but I could never get it to work.
