4 out of 5 eggsGood card, high price

Pros: Good card with the latest firmware. Good performance in RAID-5 and very functional OS-based client.

Chicks dig it.

Cons: Older firmwares had a tendency to corrupt my RAID-5 virtual drives, wiping out all data. This was A Very Bad Thing. I haven't had this issue with the newer firmwares.

Does not come with cables.

Other Thoughts: At the time this was the only PCI-e SAS card on the market and it was priced accordingly. I don't think the price has changed any since its release.

The card's size will also put your graphics card to shame. Consider your case dimensions and the placement of the hard drive rack before purchasing. It was a very tight fit for me in my 4U rackmount case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card but Highway Robbery

Pros: I use the 64bit pci 8 port version of this card and can attest to its superb performance. The tools are easy to use and setup is a breeze.

Cons: The cost is quite insane. You may feel a little violated after the purchase. :)
