1 out of 5 eggsWhat a pain

Pros: Very cheap.

Cons: Althrough this card did boot at first and does support internal RAID, its eSATA ports would never work for me, which is the main function I bought it for. After a few months of (non) use, it's completely refused to even POST, thus causing the system to hang on boot until taken out.

Other Thoughts: For the price I paid for it, I'd rather happily toss this in the trash than even go through the trouble trying to get a warranty replacement from the manufacturer.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Good in Dell XPS400

Pros: Cheap. It was 1/3 less the coat of a Rosewill.

Cons: Goes through all the Bios messages, then locks up. Can't enter my bios. I am going to have to pay shipping to return this and get the aforementioned Rosewill that I know will work from previous experience. Apparently, I should have bought the Rosewill in the first place, but I was trying to save a few bucks. Also, very hard to physically install on the motherboard for me.

3 out of 5 eggsIt works...eventually

Pros: Once you work through the quirks, it works.

Cons: Close to no support. The paper documentation gives little information, and the company forums are filled with simplistic answers and too many "the card must be defective" answers. You're on your own if you have issues (most likely boot issues). It is a SATA150 card but this is in the specs so not really a con.

Other Thoughts: I had booting problems that were eventually solved by enabling "Interrupt 19 Capture" in my MB BIOS. The support forums don't suggest this anywhere. The documentation says nothing about this. The card now works and the eSata seems to work as expected. I also jumpered the drive down to SATA150 but i have no idea if this is required or not.
