4 out of 5 eggsWorks with PCI 3.3V

Pros: Works with PCI 3.3V. Motherboard SuperMicro X5DPR-IG2+. Installed Windows 2003 Standard Server R2 (Need a floppy disk with the driver, downloaded from SYBA website). Also was recognized by Clonezilla, no driver asked. Motherboard BIOS was able to list the hard drive and include it in the boot order, so you can boot from it.

Cons: No low profile bracket.

Other Thoughts: I also tested a 3TB hard drive and it works! I was able to format it with NTFS using GPT. I did not try to boot from the 3TB hard drive .

3 out of 5 eggsSYBA SD-PCXSA2-2E2R PCI-X SATA II (3.0Gb/s) RAID Controller Card

Pros: It works.

Cons: It does not come with a (swappable) low profile slot bracket as many such controller cards do.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't do the job

Pros: The card has nice potential. It simply could not work for my needs.

Syba technical support was courteous, fast, and could offer no help.

Cons: Tyan S5396 motherboard, 20G ram, 6 disks, needed a card for CDROM and backup drive connections. Alas, the card's BIOS could not initialize due to a memory conflict.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Inexpensive 64-bit PCI-X RAID Card

Pros: Plugged it in an old DELL 2400 server PCI-X 1.0a slot and it worked great to control some 3.0Gbps 2GB Drives for backup. Works great. Nice features. Using it with Windows 2003 Server R2.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine, used for JBOD

Pros: Worked fine under Windows 7 on a Tyan s2895 motherboard that had defective SATA controllers. I put this into a 3.3v PCI-X slot that was rated at 133Mhz. The s2895 has three PCI-X only one is 133Mhz and all are 3.3 volt according to the "slot diagram" in the users manual.

Cons: Would have been nice if the external ports could be jumpered so that one could be used internally. There was a 4 internal sata version of this card but it is no longer offered at newegg.

Other Thoughts: If I had read the review that indicated the SiL3124 chipset only worked with a 5.0 volt PCI/PCI-X slot, I would not have bought this card. The board is working fine in a 3.3 volt, 133Mhz slot (according to tyan users manual) so I am unsure exactly what the problem was.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfectly

Pros: Installed on Dell Precision Workstation T3400 running WinXP Pro 64-bit. Automatically loaded drivers from Windows Update -- didn't even have to insert the included CD.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsGood Deal

Pros: Received the card as promised ( 4 business days). Good price. Installed card on my Asrock A790GXH/128M motherboard with Win7 Enterprise 64 bit running. After installing the drivers through the device manager. Went to Silicon Image web site and up-graded the cards bios and all is well. I can see two hard drives through my Thermaltake BlacX Duet docking station with no rebooting.Works well so far.

Cons: As stated in other reviews for the docking station, the drives are warm. I let them run overnight and no problems yet.

Other Thoughts: My original concern was if this card had the port multiplier on the card, it does. After emailing the manufacturer about this, I placed my order.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA...Twice...

Pros: I got to get that "Hey, something cool is coming in the mail" feeling.......twice...

Cons: DOA Twice.

Other Thoughts: I checked both cards in multiple machines in 7 total slots...the mobo's wouldn't even recognize anything was in the slot in the BIOS. One DOA from time to time is expected, but twice in a row...Epic fail.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for G4/G5

Pros: Two internal SATA, two eSATA, PCI-X, cheap, good.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had this in both my PCI G4 and my PCI-X G5. Runs well in both (needed to install the SIL drivers first) under Leopard. Currently running an internal and external RAID0 with zero problems and no noticeable overhead. Hurts me a little inside to give Syba five eggs since I've had so many problems with so many of their products, but this one just works.

5 out of 5 eggsworks well for me

Pros: this card did what I needed it to do - be port multiplier compatible. No problems so far, and the internal and external ports are convenient for my internal removable hd dock and external 8 drive hd enclosure with port multipliers.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: some of the mounting plates on pci/e cards I've installed recently have had mounting holes slightly too small to fit in my Dell tool-less case. The studs in the case are wider than a typical mounting screw, and apparently just too fat to fit in the slot. So I drill them out with a drillbit, which while slightly annoying is potentially hazardous to the electronics.
