Pros: Is it compatible with Windows 10? Yes. I don't know why, but refreshing my motherboard BIOS did the trick in getting it to be recognized by Windows. I didn't need to install any drivers and it still worked.

Cons: Do NOT install the drivers unless you have made backups or a clone of your hard drive. I installed the hardware as normally done and then ran an installer for the drivers. I restarted the computer and it froze on a Windows repair screen. No amount of messing with my Windows installation could fix the issue, so I had to start from scratch. Fortunately it was just a test computer, but any serious user looking for a RAID card should take the proper precautions.

Other Thoughts: I have not tested to see whether or not RAID works. I merely wanted to see if it could act as an expansion card, which it can. I also haven't received a rebate cheque/card yet for this unit, but I've never had trouble with the rebate center this unit uses. I expect it'll arrive within a couple months.

Pros: None

Cons: My Asus P6T motherboard recognizes the card, and the card initializes, but the card doesn't recognize the attached drives, which work fine when attached directly to the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps I got a defective card, but it isn't worth the postage cost to send it back.

Pros: One of the few hardware RAID PCIe x1 cards I found.

Cons: Added 15 seconds to my boot time. Detected my SATA III drives as SATA II.
Bench test confirms read/write speeds below SATA II maximums.
Hard drives plugged into the MB and set up as mirrored volumes perform better on the same bench test, even though motherboard does not support SATA III.

Other Thoughts: Have not tried RAID 0 configuration. Tried installing drivers from the included disc. No difference in performance on Windows 10 after installing included drivers.

Pros: On Win 7, it works perfectly. Set up and install is easy. If you OS is installed on the drive connected to this adapter, you will need to change your boot settings in BIOS.

Cons: It has no support for Windows 10. You cannot use any SSD or HDD plugged to this adapter that has your Win 10 OS installed on it. I contacted support and was told that their latest driver update was Nov 27, 2013. They have no plans to update the driver to support Win 10. That is rediculous.

It is true that if you want to boot with a OS already installed using the card, that this will not work. You will need to reinstall the OS while using the card in order to boot from it. Pros: It's two extra sata ports, awesome. Uses a PCI x1 slot which is usually never in use. Simple plug and play type style. Worked first try.

Cons: It was expected but leaves Sata cables in the open, not very easy to hide them - not a con itself on the product, just my cable management
Found out there are multiple types of this, I got the Maxwell version. There is no difference it seems physically but the controller itself may vary.
Every once in a while, it won't boot along with the computer. When starting, there is an initialization period that will freeze and not allow you to boot. It will eventually time out, but if you are in a hurry, can be waiting up to a few minutes until it times out, then boots like normal.
Drivers - Impossible to find. Searching around, there are multiple drivers for a Maxwell 91xx (I think) The manufactures site doesn't have any listed. I had to search forums for updated drivers that didn't 100% specify it was for this controller. I gave up looking since it worked (and it is in a computer for my little brother) There is no clear way of updating drivers. If there is, I would love to know.

Other Thoughts: It works out of the box, no configs no menus, no nothing. Acts like it's basically part of the motherboard. If the drivers were easier to find/install I would give 5 stars instantly.
