Installation and Use
- Pros: Plugged in my eSata device and Windows XP showed the drive with in a few seconds. When I turned the device off it disappeared; so it works as I expected it to. I'll copy some large files to see how fast it really is but that speed will also depend on the case I am using and the hard drive in the case.

- Cons: No internal plugs but not the companies fault, should have ordered one with internal plugs.
- Other Thoughts: Installation was very easy. Plugged it into the one slot I had open, 16x slot. Windows recognized it. Put the provided CD in and Windows found the driver. Didn't even have to reboot!
Works great so far in ubuntu 8.04
- Pros: Plug and play in 8.04. Works in my PCIe x16 slot (which it should). Fast!

Slow, locks up computer
- Pros: None
- Cons: First off this thing adds about 10 seconds to POST then if I don't turn my esata ext hard drive on it adds a minute or more to the Windows startup. But the best part are the lock ups. Everything freezes, keyboard, screen, network. The computer is dead frozen and I've never had one of my computers do that, until I bought this card. Thanks!
- Other Thoughts: I waited too long to return the card and get my money back. Stay away from this thing!

RC-219 supports Silicon Image “Multilane” function which can work with a Multilane device.
Multilane is a multi SATA port device which can connect multi SATA input into one SATA output.
This means RC-219 can connect totally 10 SATA devices max by a multilane storage device.
If you use RC-219 without connecting any multilane devices, you can only connect totally 2 SATA devices.
