5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Installation was a breeze, with easy direction device was running within minutes perfectly! Rosewill has great products at a great prices! Newegg fast shipping as always!

Cons: I only wish the item could control 2 internal SATA devices, but I knew ahead that it only has 1 internal interface.

Other Thoughts: Totally love Rosewill products, great quality at budget prices. Rosewill networking products work better than big name brands at 1/4 the price or better.

4 out of 5 eggsRosewill RC-225 SATA III controller card

Pros: Decently priced for a SATA III controller card that gives you a SATA III eSATA port. Small footprint so it doesn't block airflow to video cards.

Cons: None so far, seems to be compatible with AMD motherboards.

Other Thoughts: Wanted to add an extra eSATA port to my computer. The onboard eSATA port on my motherboard is bridged to the USB 3.0 controller chip, and I don't like using anything on that port. I already had a Rosewill card that gave me two eSATA ports with a SATA II controller. Adding this card gives me an extra internal SATA III port, plus the eSATA port that will accept SATA III rated drive housings.

The card works well. Doesn't cause any boot delays on my system, and maintains good speed. Nothing to sneeze at there. Will post back if it gives me any headaches.

Note: The driver on the included disc is the one to use for Windows 7 64 bit.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Transfer rate as advertised and fits into my PCI-E 8x slot without obstructing airflow to the graphics card. I am using this as an expansion to a hot-swap bay, so it is not used all the time.

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggsproblem child

Pros: none

Cons: instructions inaccurate. SLOW speed. ACHI read disabled. device could not be found, but operational? tried different slots, no difference. ssd runs WAY faster on stock controller.

Other Thoughts: I have had good luck with rosewill products in the past but their instructions are a joke.

2 out of 5 eggsRe-review. BSODs Constantly

Pros: Worked great, at first. This is replacing my previous 5 egg review.
I bought this for my SATA II motherboard. Using the internal slot with Windows 7 x64 professional. Install was easy using supplied instructions and disc.
+I get 5 GB/s using a PCI x8 slot (2.0 standard). Much faster than my mobo's 3GB/s.
+When I used the x1 (which turned out to be the 1.0 standard) I only got 2.5 gb/s.

Cons: -Must have a generation 2.0 PCI slot, x8 (x4 might work) to get 5GB/s speeds.
-I get a BSOD 90%+ of the time when going to sleep mode, under high load, large file transfers, or in certain games. I am very unhappy about this.
-The drivers for Windows 7 64 bit are still version 1.0. I wasn't happy to find out there were no driver updates after my blue screen issues.

Other Thoughts: You will get high speeds if you have the proper setup.
HOWEVER, with my Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P LGA1366 socket motherboard with Windows 7 64 bit I was getting constant BSODs with a Sandisk Extreme 240GB Gen 3 SSD. I have since stopped using the card. I wish I wouldn't have bought it. I have a $40 paperweight.

1 out of 5 eggsCompletely Useless

Pros: cheap

Cons: Not only did it not do what it promised, it rendered my SSD unbootable. Even after a clean install, it did it again a few hours later. Terrible product.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: Works great. I bought this for my SATA II motherboard. Using the internal slot with Windows 7 x64 professional. Install was easy using supplied instructions and disc. If you need SATA III on an older mobo (and you have the appropriate slots / PCI generation) buy this.

+I get 5 GB/s using a PCI x8 slot (2.0 standard). Much faster than my mobo's 3GB/s.
+When I used the x1 (which turned out to be the 1.0 standard) I only got 2.5 gb/s.

Cons: Must have a generation 2.0 slot.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P LGA1366 socket motherboard. As long as you do your homework and have the proper motherboard slots, you will get high speeds. Don't let other ignorant reviews state negative things about this product.

Once I realized I was using a PCI express 1.0 slot I remedied the situation.
