Other Thoughts: These drive cages are solid and fit perfectly in my case. The included fans keep the drives cool, and the tray-less design works perfectly. All movement on the device (doors, lock, etc) are smooth and work as designed with no issues.

Pros: Great design and execution. All parts are machined and assembled very nicely. I highly recommend this drive cage, both for external access and to fit additional 3 1/2" drives in place of 5 1/4" in an appropriate case.

Cons: I did replace the 80mm fan with one that is a bit quieter than the one that came with the unit. There is a shroud to cover the fan, and because the included fan was more narrow, I was not able to use the shroud with the standard width fan, but I doubt this makes any real difference in cooling or air flow. I also had to rewire the four pin connecter with the three pin that came with the unit to attach to the fan power.

Other Thoughts: So far I only have this populated with two 3tb drives but they are staying a cool 30 degrees Celcius, even under a moderate load.
