APC AR3100 42U NetShelter SX 600mm Wide x 1070mm Deep Enclosure

Pros: I've used about two dozen of these in my company's software test lab (I'm the admin) and they're so easy to work with, especially when moving a bunch of equipment into one all at once. Just take the sides and doors off, and have fun being able to access your cables anywhere you need. The sides are also adjustable if you have short rails or shelves to mount. The PDU mounts are also great with APC PDUs. Just click those suckers in place and you're set. I use the AP8841 PDUs, which work quite well.

Cons: it is a bit light. It will handle 2250lbs on the wheels and 3000lbs on the feet, (I've pushed one to the limit on wheels with 4 Dell R910s and 6 16 drive LSI storage arrays) but it can feel a bit 'light' (if you know what I mean) when moving the rack when it is close to capacity. It flexes a little when getting pushed. Oh, it will still hold, but it just feels light. Just be careful.

Other Thoughts: Be warned, though, if you tie the cables together in a spot you can't access without the side panels off, you may have to leave the cables there if one goes bad.

Perforated front and back cabinet doors=excellent circulation.

Other Thoughts: We have ordered these units from other cheaper sources but had many units arrived damaged and bent. Wasting time and resources getting it all sorted out. Newegg delivered in 6 days from order date in perfect condition.
For this it is worth spending a few $$ more. Highly recommend AIT/JIT shipping.

Pros: I've worked in data centers and have done data center build outs for the last 12years. I'm a big fan of plain open racks like Chatsworth makes. But the powers that be always want cabinets because they believe they will look better. If you have to buy a cabinet get the APC. It has superior cooling compared to its competition and the removable nut system assures that you won't end up with a cross-threaded useless portion of the cabinet. There is also ample room in the back of the rack now for power stripes/etc. These new cabinets are REALLY deep.

Cons: "AIT in home delivery" apparently translates to dropping it off in the alley attached to a pallet with bolts :(

Spring for the extra "white glove" delivery option. Luckily the cabinet had wheels, and it was concrete all the way from alley to elevator to office. We popped all the sides and doors off to reduce the weight significantly before we rolled it.
