1 out of 5 eggsWindows recognizes it, but it just won't work

Pros: cheap

Cons: Had the same experience as reviewer Michael Q. Card installs fine on Win 7, device manager says it is fine, but no USB device of any type is recognized when it is plugged in. Had to RMA after trying many drivers.

Pros: None

Cons: Card detected in 2 Windows 7 machines, but plugged into USB Ports not detected with any type USB Device.
Bought for my Father for Christmas. He lives in another state so had to wait till he got here to try it.
Tried in in a Windows 8.1 machine. Driver shows it in device manager but no USB devices plugged into it are detected. Bad Defective Card, Requested RMA 9/23/2014

Other Thoughts: I see a lot of people had defective cards after using them. Mine never worked correctly.

1 out of 5 eggsDead in a less than a year

Pros: Performance was not bad when working.

Cons: Did not last long

Other Thoughts: Except for a memory card reader, all drives attached the card had their own power supplies. There is no excuse for the premature death of the card

5 out of 5 eggsWorks good

Pros: Well constructed! Works well with out hiccups. Brings new life into my old rig.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I got this free with a separate purchase. That being said, I would still buy this at full price knowing that it works very well and is superb quality.

Bought a HooToo HT-PC002 card before acquiring this and Mediasonic HP1-SU3 is sooo much better!

4 out of 5 eggsnice and stable

Pros: Had this plugged in on my computer running for a week with a flash drive set for ready boost. Also running a vmware image off the flash drive. It is quite stable with no problems.

Cons: I had a problem initially installing the device. Upon booting up, windows 7 disables the ps/2 ports, so I had no keyboard or mouse. After figuring this out, I then used a usb keyboard to log in and install the driver for this device. Upon reboot, everyting is working nicely since then.

That's the short story, the long story was that I had lost my temper, rebooted and kicked the computer a few times...

1 out of 5 eggsStopped working after a month

Pros: It was pretty fast while it worked

Cons: Failed and now will not install any driver on Windows 7

Other Thoughts: Apparently there's some sort of firmware problem with this chipset. I am a PC technician and I could not find a way to flash the firmware and get it working. Would not recommend.

1 out of 5 eggsUSB 3.0

Pros: It was cheap. Worked for a little while. Like 4 months. Now it gives me code 10, Device can't start.

Cons: Even when it worked it didn't work with all devices. I couldn't get a USB flash drive to work with it. I downloaded the latest drivers when I installed it. Firmware 2.0.2.4 and driver 3.0.23.0. Lastly when trying to uninstall the driver it only repairs it. I went to the Control Panel to uninstall it. So I would pay more and get a better quality USB 3.0 card. Also the driver page is in a foreign language. So you better know what card you have and the model number of it. Newegg gives this away at times. Even then it is not a good deal.

Other Thoughts: For the price you pay it is not worth sending this back. It would cost more than what it cost. If you are going to buy a USB 3.0 card, don't get this one.

5 out of 5 eggsMediasonic HP1-SU3 PCI Express USB 3.0

Pros: I read some comments about install problems, so I dug down into the included CD and found a zip file with the install files, which I extracted. I then ran the install file from there, everything ran tickety-boo. Required SATA power. The driver is 3.0.20.0.

Whole point is that I need to download RAW files from SD card, this is the cheap ticket. Happy.

Cons: with modicum of effort to read about potential pitfalls, I had none
