Pros: Works great. Transfer speeds are faster than the onboard eSata.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I needed to go fine the drivers for it to work properly

2 out of 5 eggsIncompatible with Shuttle SH61R4

Pros: Packaging is easy to open and durable so returning it was easy.

Cons: No support documents in package.
The 'official' driver download is out of date, so you must go to a forum post to find it.
When I *did* get the current driver, my BIOS found the card, but nothing attached to it, and Windows 10 didn't recognize it.

Other Thoughts: I ordered two other, more expensive, cards,
one with the same Asmedia chipset,
and one with Silicon Image.
Only the Si Image card worked,
so apparently my motherboard doesn't like Asmedia.
An expensive lesson.

5 out of 5 eggsMediasonic PCI-E SATA III Cards

Pros: Upgraded from Koutech SATA II cards, downloaded the drivers first from Mediasonic.ca, installed like a dream (all three of them), installed drivers, no problems encountered at all.

Cons: Wish there was a card that had four SATA III port so I could reclaim some of my slots.

Other Thoughts: Installed like a dream, works great. I have a lot of hard drives attached to this desktop and all are detected as they should be.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as described

Pros: Stable port multiple operation with their eight drive external box

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I own their eight drive external box and had trouble with the USB 3 interface, Using the motherboard eSATA would only recognize five drives, this was advertised as being able to recognize all eight and it does. I use the external box as single backup drives so RAID isn't used and I can't comment on how this works for RAID.

3 out of 5 eggsJust ok

Pros: Works stable enough. No major problems with the device. Tested with Win 7 & 8, and both worked.

Cons: 1. Does not work with Intel Rapid Storage Software and crashes when Intel Rapid Storage is activated.
2. Windows does not detect the device until driver is installed.
3. No instruction manual/driver inside box. But website/driver can be searched online.

Other Thoughts: Decent product for the price if you're not too worried about working around to get it to work.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Technically works.

Cons: Hard freezes windows 8.1 when any level of load is sent to both ports at the same time. Avoid this card (and probably chipset).

1 out of 5 eggsMediasonic ESATA card makes computer not work

Pros: none

Cons: This card made my new PC not even want to boot. It either is messing with the bus speed or is on the same IRQ as another device. I don't need it and it came free with the super micro motherboard as a promo. I'd like to return this for a refund!
