Powers all my needs perfectly!
- Pros: *Powers me fine and my specs are: EVGA GTX 280 superclocked edition, 8GB OCZ Fatal1ty DDR2 800 (PC26400), Q6600 @3.4GHz w/ Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU cooler, EVGA 780i motherboard, Seagate 750GB Barracuda HDD.
So a pretty big load there and it handles it superbly.
*LED's are very bright and look nice.
*Turbo fan comes in handy after long gaming sessions.
*PLENTY of cables for SLI
- Cons: *Turbo fan is a bit loud, but not -that- bad really...not as bad as some of these reviewers have made it out to be.
*Some of the cables are do not have the mesh on the outside of them to make them nice and clean looking, but for the price that's hardly anything to complain over.
Other than those, nothing.
- Other Thoughts: I was skeptical when I purchased this because it was not a big name-brand PSU, but the results were more than I could ask for. I have been using this for over a year now and it is still running strong. And I'm using some top-of-the-line, power-hungry parts. I highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to spend double or triple the price for the same exact thing. Well worth the money, and its very cheap too. Bottom line: buy it. No sense spending a fortune for the same thing just to get a different label on the side for a bigger name brand.
Awful!
- Pros: The power is fine, good for a gaming machine (not sure about sli / crossfire).
- Cons: Terrible, wretched, dredful manufacturing! I would ocassionally hear a rattling in the psu. The light and fan on it would go off and back on every second.
- Other Thoughts: Turned out one of the wires in the psu was touching the fan (also in the psu). It was in bad shape when I found out that it was the problem. I had to use a wire hanger to force the wire outside of the fan shielding, so as to not void my warranty. Could've hurt myself real bad. Will never buy from this company again.
Great choice!
- Pros: This thing will power all your needs! The turbo makes extreme cooling with the press of a button. The blue LED just makes your case stand out. Comes with Velcro ties for color coding your wires. Has A LOT of PCI-E connectors for SLI! Has a lot of SATAs (I haven't tried it yet). This PSU is extremely quiet! You can't go wrong with this!
- Cons: Turbo fan is quite noisy and also when the turbo button is pressed, I keep hearing a rattling sound from my PC, which I don't hear when its off. A lot of cords, for the price I wish they could have made it modular.
Make sure you have a Big Tower or you wont know where to put all the cords if you have excess.
- Other Thoughts: This PSU is great if your thinking about upgrading your PC and keeping it for awhile, it should give you enough power to power 2x 8800 GTX's in SLI, but I don't expect this to SLI the PCI-E 2.0's like the 9800 NVIDIA Series. I don't know if it will or not so don't take my word for it. Other than that, this is great. Great for bigger towers that have a lot of space. I have a 939-PL Black and its quite crowded, but I have enough space for air flow. I won't be upgrading this PSU for at least a year, because I don't expect to become a big time enthusiast on upgrading my PC. This PSU will allow me to upgrade to a new tower such as the Antec Tweleve Hundred and SLI two 8800's in the future. Good for a set upgrade point.
