5 out of 5 eggsGreat purchase

Pros: Quiet. powerful. Easy to install. Thick and pliable cables. No one with common sense would try to power 2 high end game cards and a high power processor. Watch out for Antec sales reps reviews.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Quiet. Powerful.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate: Not so good after all.

Pros: Nothing any more

Cons: Won't handle it's rated wattage or efficiency.

Other Thoughts: I just added a pair of GTX 780 sli and my computer kept crashing on me under full load SLI games. It was only pulling 600ish watts and running cool as a cucumber.

After diagnosing nothing wrong I decided to put my old trusty Antec TPQ-850 PSU and it was running just fine and staying in the mid 500ish watts, and it was rated 80Plus Bronze.

Very strange, This Sparkle 700 Watt 80Plus platinum can't handle it's rated power and is less effcient than my Bronze rated PSU.

wierd thing is my Antec 850 watts was runing almost 1,000 watts for 24/7 Folding at Home (F@H) for ever a month and it barely got warm, but never failed.

FYI, the reason I ran it so long was I never had a watt meter and had to wait a month to buy one and was suprised it was past 850 watts, but I was over c,locking both GPUs and the CPU. Once I undid the overclock it was back to 500ish watts. I was amazed my overclocking could double my watt usage. They were mild overclocks.

I knew I was taking a risk buying this PSU, but it was originally designed to run 300-350 watts. I had it running over two years this way faily regularly without issue. It wasn't until pushing it a little hard that is fails. It acts like it's reaching some threshhold and shutting off.

Maybe only one rail was too stressed? It does mave a multitude of rails on it.

3 out of 5 eggsNoisy

Pros: This power supply is exactly as described. It's efficient and modular. If you put your hand over the fan, you'll notice that it throws off almost no heat at all. 3/4 screw holes perfectly matched the ones on my case, which is not bad at all.

Cons: It's noisy! The box maxes an odd chirping noise occasionally which is exacerbated by drawing additional power. When I halted the fan under normal operation, the chirping noise continued. It's definitely contained to the power supply though. Possibly defective?

5 out of 5 eggsWant to save power? Go for it!

Pros: I've been monitoring my power bill, after getting this PSU I swear it's dropped. I rarely hear the fan running in it. I don't run many programs at once, so I haven't tested how good it is, but leaving it to idle is almost as good as shutting it off. I wouldn't trade it for another power supply anytime soon.

Cons: Steak and eggs?

Other Thoughts: Works well with my set up, only had a small problem during install, and that is because my case is set up a little funny. No problems.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, So Good

Pros: 80Plus Platinum
Runs cool under half load
Long Cables

Cons: thin wires on all the cables.

Only two PCIe power cables with 2 x 6+2 connectors on each cable. I don't think I'd trust 2 x 6+2 on one device. Each 6+2 connector draws 150watts and these wires look pretty thin to carry 300 watts that it would require for both connectors to be connected.

PSU fans runs on idle. Most 80Plus Platinum PSUs run cool enough that the fans don't come on until half load.

Other Thoughts: I took a chance with Sparkle. I've had good luck in the past, but nothing this high end of a product from them

I pull 375 watts during my games on my overclocked i72600 and 6870.

Idles at 160watts stock and 225 OC.
