5 out of 5 eggsEnermax = Energizer

Pros: Going through my Newegg history and found this supply in it. Over 10 years of steady use; from gaming to movies to basic day to day work this supply is still pushing.

Currently this supply is powering a machine for my 7 year old son. Paired up with an AMD HD 4850 and AMD 550BE dual core processor it keeps on working.

Cons: Can't think of any, I've certainly gotten my money's worth.

Other Thoughts: Enermax seems to have fallen of as of late. I don't see the great reviews I use to see back in '03. Currently I'm running a PC Power & Cooling Silent III 750W supply, Intel i5 and HD 7970

5 out of 5 eggsA good Power Supply

Comments: got this power supply in mid Feburuary and it's very solid. Right when it go to my house i noticed the box was very heavy. After opening the box i noticed how much attention to detial this company put into the power supply. The power cables are solid and the shielding around them is great, i love this power supply. It's power everything in my computer. I have 3 7200rpm hard drives, 2 DVD-Roms, Pentuim 4, 1gig of RAM, Radeon 9700, and about 11 fans, this thing doesn't even flinch... i could probably add another 3 hard drives without a problem.

Yes i agree with the other guy, color does not matter, it could be bright pink and i'd still use it, and the fan are facing the correct way.

To summarize this power supply is great and will handle almost all of your needs.

Comments: This Power Supply is the greatest holds up strong to high power consumption and is solidly built. This PSU has been pushing solid power lvls to my computer and has been preforming beautifully. Dont listen to the complaints down there. Who cares what color it is i mean you wont even see it when its in your case unless if your a case modder but even then its nothing that a lil sanding and paint cant fix and the fans and the way its mounted it was designed that way to draw air from the area around your motherboard and blow it out of the case. This is a great powersupply and if your looking for something quality and powerful id go with this PSU

3 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I tried to post this info a few days ago but it never showed up here. I haven't used the supply yet but I am disappointed with it right out of the box. For some reason I thought this unit was supposed to be black. It's not. at least not mine. I have a metallic blue. Not only that, in my opinion that supply is built upside down. To install it where the internal fan blows down ( instead of up into the 1/16 inch at the top of my case ) all of the rear panel writing is upside down and the power switch is under the power cord. Very unusual.

Skip.

Comments: After writing a lenghtly review of this product and submitting it New Egg came back with a statement that I wasn't a registered user . I'm a registered user when I place an order so why not when I post a review of a product?

Sorry but I just became negative after spending an hour typing my apparently invalid evaluation of this power supply that I'm not about to type again.

In short, it is not black it's metallic blue. And the second fan faces upside down if you want to install the supply properly.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I forgot to mention that this a slightly newer version like one of the posts below states. It's a gloss black finish, pumping out 460W +3.3=35, +5=35, +12V=33 rails. Comes with a SATA power cable so you can hook up two SATA drives from one 4-pin molex connector. This thing oozes quality and also has one extra 4-pin power connector for people like me who need them all.

Comments: Enermax power supplies are easily the best out there. Their rails are more even than Antec and anybody else for that matter. Sure, you can get your Antec 550 Truepower, but it puts ridiculous power on the 5V rail and nothing on the 12V rail. Take a good long look at the rails on the power supplies and you'll see what I mean. Great PS, have 6 hard drives, 1 optical, 4 case fans plus a Vantec 92mm Tornado fan, floppy, Radeon 9700 Pro, 3 USB devices sucking power, 3 PCI cards, Athlon XP 2500+ and this PS doesn't flinch. Enermax is the best
