The Antec NeoPower 550 offers super quiet operation and high - up to 85% - efficiency thanks to Active PFC (power form correction). This efficiency factor, along with Antec's innovative "straight-through" airflow path allows the fan to run slower – and quieter – as it exhausts heat from the power supply. As a result, you'll save energy – and money – on your power bills each month. The power supply is backwards compatible with all ATX 12V systems while supporting ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V systems.

With 550 watts of power at your command, dedicated power circuitry delivers a more reliable – and safer – output to your system's components with voltage feedback circuitry and tighter regulation for improved system stability. Maximum, stable power to your CPU is delivered via three +12V output circuits independently of the other components and dedicated power connector supplies energy to any PCI Express graphics card.

The NeoPower 550 is certified Nvidia SLI-ready. In order to reduce cable clutter, the advanced cable management system lets you use only the cables you need to power your system. All of this is backed by Antec's AQ5 5-year warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PS!

Pros: I've had this PS since 2008 and its still going strong!

Cons: It didn't prevent the fan seizing up on my video card due to dust. :(

Other Thoughts: From what I've researched, this PS should be able to handle a newer 600 series nVidia cards!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: I bought this back in 2006 for my new desktop build, which I've up a upgraded three times, and is now a file server. It's been run 24/7 since I first installed it and hasn't caused any issues. It's powering a Phenom 9600 quad-core, Radeon HD6570 and nine hard drives.

Cons: Modular design makes a tight fit in the LianLi PC-V1000 with its air compartment bulkhead.

Pros: Going on 3 years , no problems . USED ON A CROSSFORE ATI 6770 and AMD 1100T , now an FX8350 and still going stong . Reviews have said this psu puts out over 650 wattts , I beleive it . Never gets hot or makes noise . Semi modular so no messy cables . included cables are very good quality

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Wish they still made this PSU I'd buy again . Great unit , runs cool and quiet

1 out of 5 eggsTotally died on me.

Pros: Low energy usage, fairly quiet. Worked well...while it lasted.

Cons: Died on me after a little over two years of ownership. I couldn't find the receipt, so I'm going to eat the cost of replacement. Just not reliable for me.

Other Thoughts: Try a brand with a higher rating? This power supply just disappointed me totally.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little PSU, I'm going to miss him

Pros: I've had this PSU for 5+ years, been through three upgrades.

Cons: The modular cables, while nice at first, caused me headaches as I would lose them.

Other Thoughts: It's over 5 years old now and just starting to randomly turn off the PC when the GPU starts drawing more power than normal usage. Replacing it with a 500w Rosewill.

2 out of 5 eggsDied after 2 uses

Pros: Modular. Worked, 2 times.

Cons: This was supposed to be in a build for a paying customer who stopped paying, and led to me keeping it. Finished paying for the rest of the parts, and it ran twice. Once to install windows, second time to restart and install drivers. From this point, it was to be sold to another. I tried to turn on for a third time, before selling. It didnt boot. It powered everything for 1-2 seconds, than shut off immeadiately. This would seem like overheating problem, but I found out that everything worked when either the RAM sticks were completely out, or the 4 pin CPU wire was unplugged, than everything would stay powered. I thought that there was a mobo problem, or maybe even CPU. I used a Power supply that was recently purchased for a friend, and it works completely fine. Still dont understand the complete issue with this power supply, but its clearly the issue. Disappointed, but it is my first failed power supply.

Other Thoughts: Im probably not going to get a refund/replacement because its "out of stock" and probably not getting more because its deactivated, which sucks, but the good part is that I did not pay for the power supply. The Power supply tester said the voltages were correct, but its clearly failed. Live and learn.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Silent, Fits great, plently of cords with lots of length.

Cons: Nothing, so far its perfect.

Other Thoughts: I never replaced a power supply before. I have installed DVD writable drives and video cards/sound cards so I was pretty confident that I could replace the power supply. It was simple enough for me to install. I think that any computer friendly person should not have a problem with installation.

4 out of 5 eggsAntec Power supply

Pros: I bought two of these and one 750 blue. After about a year and a half one of the 550 power supplies lost power to my video card. I called Antec and they immediately gave me a RMA number and sent me a new one the same day they got mine. Not only that they sent a True Power which costs more more. I am very happy. Thanks Antec

Cons: None, anything can go bad. I would give the other two 5 eggs because they didn't go bad

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: I have been using this unit for over three years and has lasted over three upgrades. It's currently powering a Intel I5 750 @ 3.2ghz along with a hd4890 and it's still as quiet as the day I bought it.

Cons: Not as efficient as some newer psu's.
