OverviewCustomer ReviewSpecificationsProduct Tour
How do you get 400W of power with no noisy fan and no overheating problems? That's the power of ZEN. Ok, it really has to do with the large, efficient heat sink on the bottom of the unit. This is a great addition to a home theater or studio computer where minimizing noise is important. The 80%+ efficiency of this PSU also helps to minimize heat.

All of the connector cabling is wrapped in mesh for minimal tangling and easy management. The 4 SATA and 6 Molex connectors give you plenty of power for your drives. A 6-pin PCIe connector gives your video card the extra power it needs.

Perfect

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Silence! You will not hear a peep from this item. It truly creates no sound at all. The handsome mesh around the cabling is a nice touch. Plus, it comes with three Velcro cable ties to keep the install nice and clean.
Cons: This thing is heavy. It was heavier than all the other parts of the machine combined.
Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that the value goes out the window if you plan to install this in to a machine that already has several case fans, loud hard drives, a noisy cpu fan or a noisy gpu fan. It kind of defeats the purpose all together and would be a waste of the extra money that it costs. I chose this PSU because I was building a machine as an audio workstation for a recording studio. In the studio, silence is golden. It came out perfectly. This is would be great in a machine with liquid cooling.

Pros: My wife Sharon and I were looking for quiet systems so we purchased two Zen 400's. The both of us are very pleased with these power supplies. It will get warm to the touch, but not hot and of course, silent!
Cons: None.

Zen PSU

white Reviewed By: Hersheybar on 9/11/2009

Tech Level Tech Level: average - Ownership: more than 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: No noise
Cons: Too heavy. Too expensive. No Zen at all.
Other Thoughts: It would be nice if things were really what their names meant. Of course, knowing Zen probably precludes buying this particular PSU.

Cons: It got hot enough to melt some wires and start a small fire
Other Thoughts: I think that I'd rather live with the fan noise

Good PSU in general, but got a bad one

Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: more than 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: No noise, lots of connectors, long cords, cords wrapped in mesh to keep them from tangling, lighted switch, looks nice.
Cons: Heavy - to be expected with no fan though.
Other Thoughts: I have purchased two of these. The second one failed after 13 months of service. Has 3 year warranty so I am doing the RMA process. 4-6 weeks turnaround is what their website says. For this price, seems they could afford to do an advance RMA.
