4 out of 5 eggsBest Watt per Buck

Pros: At the time of purchase, this was the best deal for a 1k watt PSU. A bit over kill for my system as my rig barely uses over half of what the PSU can provide. The PSU is well built with quality materials. Nothing appears to be cheap. Love that it is modular, except for the main 24 pin connector. But then again, do you really need the option to remove the 24 pin cable? Also like to mention that it is fairly quiet for being a 1k watt unit.

Cons: The main A/C power cord is not of standard connection that you would find on many other PSU's. Though the PUS side connector is the same overall shape. The 3 pins (ground, positive, negative) are of a different shape and orientation. So if you had to replace the power cable some time down the road. It may be a difficult task.

Another thing is that my first initial PSU died on me within a couple months. Not sure why. couldn't ever power on my computer long enough before the PSU would trip a safety circuit. But I was able to RMA it through the manufacture and get a replacement within the week.

Other Thoughts: They could have used a standard A/C power cord. Also better QA testing of their products to ensure that bad ones don't go through causing system down time.

1 out of 5 eggsbad product support

Pros: None

Cons: Did not function with Asus Z87 WS mother board. RMAed after the 1 month. They had it and eventually said it was not compatible with this motherboard and CPU. Clicks on and off. They did not even try to replace the unit. Poor service.

Other Thoughts: I would not buy another product from FSP. Newegg hands were tied since it took me over one month to build the computer due to other faulty or delayed products.

3 out of 5 eggsGood enough

Pros: Meets standards, provides power like it's supposed to.

Cons: Non-standard power plug (why???)

Dedicated fan cables are a nice idea, but have no power. A single 80mm 3500rpm fan (rather fast I know) will make the psu shut off after a little bit. I imagine even a couple slower fans would do the same. So they are kinda pointless.

Expensive for what you get. Look around and better can be had for less.

4 out of 5 eggsRock solid, a little pricey

Pros: High quality cabling. So many modular supplies have cheap cables and clips. Not this one. The cables and clips are great, a little thick but that is good.

Fan is quiet

Performs as advertised under higher loads, I run over 900W on it consistently.

Cons: Cost. This is an expensive supply, even compared to competitors. The power plug is non-standard.

Other Thoughts: The usage of annoying and time consuming mail in rebates leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I know that it has become standard, but I dont care. I knock an egg for attempting to trick me out of my promotional price by using mail in rebates.
