3 out of 5 eggsBlew up after 1 year

Pros: Got a lot of good reviews. Solid voltage readings and above average current ratings.

Cons: Only 1 so far: lasted just short of 1 year before failing.

Other Thoughts: Has been a great replacement power supply for 1 year. The test of how good this power supply is will rest entirely on the customer service of the manufacturer. I understand things break, lets see how they handle it. (If it was newegg, I would not even be submitting a review because I know how they would handle it)

5 out of 5 eggsSolid quiet performer

Pros: Have run this PSU for over 2 years and not one hiccup the entire time. Runs quiet and cool even with only one fan. For many months this was in my main PC which ran 24x7 for weeks on end. Recently upgraded to a 3 Ghz P4 with 2GB and full load of options. This PSU took on the new task and never looked back. Highly recommend this one. In fact I have an older PC that needs a new PSU and Dude, I'm getting a FORTRON!!!!

Cons: Nice if it had more than one SATA power plug.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Very high quality power supply. It's quite heavy. It runs very quiet, even while hardcore gaming. I'm running 2 hard drives, 6600GT, 2 cd's, 4 fans and a floppy with no problems at all. For the bucks, this is a great PSU. As always, great service and fast shipping from Newegg. I got it in 2 days.

5 out of 5 eggsABSOLUTELY THE BEST SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments: While I have just recieved (Expected Del. 4-1-2005 / Actual Delivery 3-31-2005, Ordered 3-29-2005) this power supply, knowing that it is a Fortron gives me NO nightmares or Worries. This P.S. is replacing one of the cheapies. I just want to REALLY THANK Newegg for the OUTSTANDING service that they have given me in the last 2 years. Excellent Customer Service, Excellent Shipping times. My first order with Newegg was July of 2003, and I have ordered several items since. All with fast shipping. If you want OUTSTANDING SERVICE order with Newegg.

4 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Has worked perfectly. No issues with system stability running an AMD64 3200, Plextor DVDRW, dual Hitachi SATA, Geforce 6800GT (AGP), FDD, 2 PCI cards, and 2 sticks of 512 ram. Power cords are fairly short making it ideal for use in HTPC like mine where space is very tight. So maybe not the best for some mid or full-tower cases. Wish it had two SATA power connectors instead of just one.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: This is the best power supply i've ever seen. The whole thing just yells out "quality". First of all it weighs a ton, and the air flow design seems actually planned and designed (unlike other PS manufacturers that it seems like they just threw a fan on it and hoped it blew air).

I have mine holding up a 3ghz P4 (1 sata hdd, 3 fans, 2 cd drives, older radeon video card). Definently no problems and running 4 weeks straight.

Did i mention this thing weighs a ton? Anyway, get this if your computer doesnt need more (most dont).

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: This is a high quality power supply. The only thing I don't like is it's kind of loud. I'm going to replace the fan and that should solve the problem.

4 out of 5 eggsI never give a perfect score to anything

Comments: I never give a perfect score to anything becuse nothing is perfect but this PSU FSP400-60PFN is the best bang for the buck
IMO in the market of *quality* PSU's and saying that..it reviews better then 90% of them and always beat's the other in value. Fortron builds PSU's for many others and that includes Zalman,Sparkle and several others for good reason..quality
componates and huge heat sinks..this unit weights more then
600w units. I gave it a 4 or 5 because that's as high as I give,it only shrtcoming is the lack of SATA cable and a second 4 pin floppy cable for video cards..adapters are everywhere though.

heavy build quality,with massive heatsinks
excellent thermal protection,
good directed airflow design,
good quality active PFC with universal voltage input

My other PSU is a Vantec 420A

See Xbit link below for excellent comprehensive review
