5 out of 5 eggsAWSOME

Pros: took a lighting strike fried the unit itself but saved the computer.

Cons: took a lighting strike fried the unit itself but saved the computer. Tried to get another from apc through their warranty program, totally not worth it just gonna buy another from newegg.

Other Thoughts: Tried to get another from apc through their warranty program, totally not worth it just gonna buy another from newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good for the money

Pros: -High insertion force makes sure things don't fall out
-No fear of shocking myself while working with it
-Self sacrifice feature DOES work, though it is scary and stinky
-It works well
-Lifetime no questions asked warranty WITH cross shipping, pre shipping in my case

Cons: -High insertion force makes this something you use for fixtures, but it isn't TOO horribly high as some reviews say. It varies
-Self sacrifice feature is terrifying to have go off, and stinks the room up. Though it happens VERY VERY rarely, repeat:You'll likely never see it.

Other Thoughts: I own two. My self sacrifice incident occured with a bad extension cord's ground went bad. The center under the button burnt completely out. I was playing half life 2 episode 1 at the time and thought the electrical crackle was from the game, then the smell of burnt silicon hit me..hit the main breaker and freaked.

APC shipped to me and very patiently explained what happened. I didn't find out about the extension cord until the second strip came in and I saw the ground fault light flickering, quickly fixed that and it's still working today.

Also, the insertion force is enough that you don't want to be constantly plugging and unplugging things into it. But it keeps fingers fairly safe.

This is the BEST power strip on the market today for the money. Other strips come nowhere near this one's specs, and are typically just 'prettier'.

Remember never to chain other surge protectors, power strips, or UPSes. EVER. As in NEVER DO IT.

4 out of 5 eggsPriced well

Pros: Inexpensive, protects coax, CAT-5, and RJ11 (phone). Laid out well - supports 6 AC transformer bricks (wall warts), some with "always on". Power cable very flexible.

Cons: Insertion force - difficult to get plugs in. Seems a little flimsy, why it's getting a 4.

Other Thoughts: Who knows how well this actually protects against surges, all my critical equipment has another level of protection (UPS and/or additional power strip).

Other Thoughts: I dont feel comfortable with using this companies product, they may have documentation to back up their devices, but when it comes to the real world, I personally do not want to have to use a VICE to insert my power devices into their product.

3 out of 5 eggsI hope I can Update This

Pros: Have not found any as of yet, as soon as i figure out how to test the "Trip" Limits I will let you all know " It's not just a short circuit test". I'm sure APC's circuirty is working properly.

Cons: Insertion Force

Other Thoughts: I have used APC UPS's and Suppressors before and found their Insertion Forces to be WAY TO HIGH! If not impossible for a 200 LB man to insert a plug. I have e-mailed them and hope for a true technical response. I will let you all know about the response.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: Gotta love pretty much anything APC comes up with - and this isn't an exception. The best bit on this for me is the widely spaced, side outlets that allow pack transformers - this was a real pain beforehand - now I have everything routed neatly through the cable guide.

Cons: A tiny bit 'plastiky' in construction - with mine, the internal cables were obviously squeezed in resulting in the plastic cover being a little, little bit warped - but nothing you would see normally.

Other Thoughts: None - fits the bill perfectly for me.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful!

Pros: Works awesome! What else can I say? Can surge protect every wire for every bit of your office equipment!

Cons: None really!

Other Thoughts: I own one of these and I purchase one for a customer for his custom PC. My uncle has the smaller version of this one (believe it protects 2500 joules). Lightning hit his chimney and blew it apart. On the other side of that wall was his PC. All it did was fry the surge suppression for the phone. APC would have replaced it, but he hasn't taken care of it yet.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works

Cons: The item looks and feels old and little dirty, may be the one I bought was a return and new egg sold it to me as new.
I wrote to them about it but no response, it means I am right and new egg do not want to talk to me about this.

Other Thoughts: Reply my email new egg.......

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Item

Pros: I live in an area where power fluctuations are constant due to weather and other factors. I run a quad core server 24/7 and have had about 3 surges thus far and nothing is damaged!

Cons: for me, the cord is too long, but this product still gets a 5 because its just personal preference.

Other Thoughts: As a good product (comes with $100,000 warranty for any items connected) its well worth the buy.
