3 out of 5 eggsLinkskey LDV-DM02ESK

Pros: Works with 1920x1080 digital where most other DVI KVM’s will not.

Cons: WAY over priced for what you get. Does not switch audio.

This KVM is supplied with short, stiff DVI-I cables. My DVI devices (tuner cards, graphic cards, embedded graphics) all have DVI-D connectors so the supplied cables are worthless because they will not mate with these connectors.

Other Thoughts: Not sure why 1920x1080 DVI KVM’s are so scarce.

4 out of 5 eggsDual port DVI KVM worth the money

Pros: It's a KVM, it has two ports, it works mostly. I have it between a eight processor Mac Pro and a quad processor i7 920 PC. I have two 23" monitors and a desk just big enough to fit them with a keyboard and mouse. When you boot the system, tke KVM has to be Selected to that device so that it can see the mouse and keyboard, but once booted, you can seamlessly switch back and forth.

Cons: There is no KVM for the Audio links, so I bought a second cheap "Trip-Lite" KVM ($25) just to switch the audio. This is the best bang for the buck out there, though it is admittedly still not cheap or perfect. I would definitely buy it again and recommend to others (I got my work to buy me one for there too).

Other Thoughts: As an embedded SW engineer, I understand how the USB and the target must negotiate in order that the OS can understand what it out there. I know that in order to make it automatic, a much greater effort must be made in the implementation of HW and SW, which is why some of the more complex KVMs are a thousand dollars or more. No problem here, I have no problem going though this small effort of booting with the system selected to save the cash and complexity.

4 out of 5 eggsGood dual monitor switch.

Pros: Works perfectly fine with two 1920x1200 resolution monitors. Good assembly quality. Good cables.

Cons: Cables are short and don't fit older DVI ports. I had to purchase generic DVI cables for one of my computers.
Not too stylish, though in reality it is much nicer than on Newegg's photo.
Somewhat Pricey.

Other Thoughts: So far runs pretty smooth.
Sometimes, would not let to start the desktop using keyboard, but that is a small price to pay for the convenience it delivers.
After using it for some time I believe this KVM is well worth the price.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks!

Pros: Works as stated! Good cables. Dual DVI ports with sturdy screws so the cables don't slip or fall off. Unit seems fairly rugged. I love having a dual monitor KVM!!

Cons: none really

Other Thoughts: Cables could be a little longer...

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: I am using this with 2 Samsung LCD monitors set for 1600 x 1200 resolution. I have the Logitech S510 wireless keyboard / mouse. It always switches great and doesn't cause any issues. When I switch between monitors my mouse wheel scroll / zoom initially quits working. This was bothersome until I read the directions giving a hotkey combination ScrollLock - ScrollLock - End that works everytime to reset the mouse instantly. I'm very happy with it, especially after reading up on KVM switches and seeing how oftem people have trouble.

Cons: The cables will likely not be long enough for you.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks very well except 4 horizontal scrolling

Pros: works awesome to switch over! makes having 2 setups very convenient. Switches over great and works great.

Cons: I have a microsoft comfort optical mouse 3000 and the side scrilling doesnt work through the kvm. I decided to hook up a mouse to each computer so that I can have side scrolling as I use it a lot in my music production applaication, cakewalk sonar, to scroll left and right onthe song timeline. It sucks that this wouldnt work. maybe it is just this mouse that doesnt work with it.

Other Thoughts: Other than the side scrolling not working with a mouse hooked up to the kvm, the unit works great!

5 out of 5 eggsNICE!!!

Pros: I have used many video switching devices and this is very nice. Plenty of heavy duty cables and the box is very small, nice when space is limited. It takes very little time to switch from one screen to the next. Some I have used took a long time to switch screens, strange when you consider that it does not have to process anything.

Cons: The cables are somewhat on the short side so plan accordingly. Buying longer cables of this quality would probably be very expensive. The box is small and light and the cables are stiff and heavy. So they tend to push the box around. Some velcro might be needed to keep the box in place.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks without problems

Pros: It does what it's supposed to do- I can switch between inputs without any problems. Unit is small and doesn't require the included power adapter.

Cons: The cables it comes with are short. This isn't a problem in my case because I put the two computers within a few feet of each other, but if your computers aren't, you may want to get longer cables. I think the included cables are 3ft long.

Other Thoughts: One of the pictures says that the cables with PS/2 and video connectors is a PS/2 and VGA cable, but it's actually a DVI cable. I don't know why this has bad reviews- I'm using two 19" LCDs at 1280x1024 and have no problems at all with this switch.

1 out of 5 eggs2nd try...2nd bad unit

Pros: This page intentionally left blank.

Cons: Works until you move certain (random) open application windows across screens. Monitors flutter, go blank, attempt to resync at lower resolutions, streak and generally "flake out." Video works perfectly without KVM in the configuration. Beware of the 30 day return policy...it starts running with the first purchase date and may expire by the time you test the replacement (and find out that one's bad too...and stuck with it).

Other Thoughts: Dual ATI X1650Pros; 2 identical Samsun SyncMaster 204T 1600x1200.

5 out of 5 eggsKVM Switch is Great..

Pros: Very solid, very compact, very simple installation. Came with a separate power supply but I do not know why. I do not use it. Draws power form either of my systems via PS/2 and USB ports.

Comes with all the cables you need to connect to two systems. Cables are unitized for a neat installation.

Finally got it working: Never any problem with video and this one supports two monitor systems! Problem with KVMs is with mouse and keyboard switching--whether you have PS/2 or USB. My **** system does not have PS/2 ports. The system I built does have and I wanted to use them. Accordingly, I bought this model.

Cons: KVM switches are not forgiving for connecting to two systems, one using PS/2 and one USB for mouse and keyboard.

Expensive.

My mouse laser stays on if either of my computers are plugged in, even if they are not "on".

When I switch over I have to wait a few seconds before my non PS/2 system responds to the keyboard. Hint: If the keyboard light is not responding to caps-lock key light wait a few seconds.

Other Thoughts: You cannot just use a wired adapter to connect the cable provided to connect a PC to the mouse or the keyboard to connect it to USB ports on the PC. PS/2 is not USB with a different mechanical connector.

I needed a smart adapter for going from one USB port to two PS/2 inputs--one for keyboard and one for mouse. These things have a chip hidden inside! The one I bought, and the only one I can say will work, was the BYTECC BT-2000. If you can afford the switcher, you can afford this adapter.

So I had to learn some things to achieve success with this DVM switcher but end result, I am very pleased.

If you are working with two systems, each of which use PS/2 you should have no problems.

Forget using USB to PS/2 adapters for keyboards. This KVM switch works only with genuine PS/2 keyboards. It may require a PS/2 mouse too. (Mice sold as PS/2 mice often are USB terminated plus USB to PS/2 adapter. These, at least my wired mouse, can be used.)
