2 out of 5 eggsNo support for latest mice

Pros: Dual monitor DVI with high resolution

Cons: Does not appear to support the Microsoft Comfort Optical mouse (it is a PS/2 mouse). Windows just simply doesn't recognize it.

Other Thoughts: I don't see a firmware update or anything on this site

5 out of 5 eggsNow supports 1920x1200

Pros: It works perfectly and can do 1920x1200. Because it has ALL the cables you'll need it came in a huge box.

Cons: .

Other Thoughts: The BETTER part. I went looking for a 2nd 22" monitor. a 23" monitors for a little more, then 24" for a little more... Next thing I knew I bought a 26" monitor. :-) After ordering I realized the 1920x1200 is way out of the listed specs so I emailed Linkskey. I asked what would happen if I tried to use it at that resolution. They wrote back: "The current version supports 1920x1200. The website will be updated soon." Sweet. :-)

2 out of 5 eggsFrustrating KVM

Pros: Moderatly priced dual KVM Switch with high quality construction.

Cons: The design logic is faulty. In order for this KVM to see a computer it must be switched to point that computer when it (the computer) is powered on. Every other KVM I have used will see a computer that is powered on; whether or not it was pointed at the computer when powering up. Just wait until you power up one of your PCs and then have to shut down and restart in order for this KVM to see it. The process is both frustrating and time consuming.

The 4 cables are all the same length - a length which is unspecified on the NewEgg and Linkskey websites (8'). Varying lenghts would make much more sense (to me at least).

Should be shipped with rack mount brackets (that I could then adapt for shelf mounting).

Cannot switch forward and backward from the KVM's manual button (forward only).

Other Thoughts: Ugly Graphics, poorly described functionality, etc. in NewEgg and Linkskey website narratives. As for me, I would have gladly paid more for a better thought out KVM design.

5 out of 5 eggsBest DVI Bang per $

Pros: KVMs are problematic, PERIOD! This one works nicely in 1600 X 1200 and works in gaming as well. There's not a lot of info out there on DVI KVMs. This KVM works well with my Logitech MX3100 (MX1000 mouse) and even maintains the mouses back/forward browser functions. This has been a huge issue and has a lot to do with my KVM "collection". Overall a fine product, so far, since I've owned it about six months. Excellent quality cables which should be considered when factoring the overall price of your KVM.

Cons: The box is pretty ugly. Logitech's drivers are iffy at best but they "don't support KVMs". Microsoft's intellipoints work nicely with the MX1000 and this KVM. Sometimes the monitor is only recognized as a generic monitor. No big deal. The cables seem to have issues with Nvidia graphics cards. They work but the two screws aren't long enough to engage the "nuts" on the my 6600GT. I hated that card anyway and ATI cards work fine. As far as forward compatabilty PS2 mice/keyboards and ports are supposed to be legacy technology and might well be on the way out. Something to think about when contemplating a $270 switch.

Other Thoughts: KVMs aren't perfect. Dual DVI KVMs can cost thousands. For the money this one is fantastic. It just quietly works like a switch should. Best bang per $ out there. I spent months researching and soul searching over this purchase. No regrets!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Works as described. Able to handle 1600x1200! Cheapest dual dvi kvm you'll find that can handle 1600x1200.

Cons: Can't switch screens during boot.
Occasionally when switching between 2 particular computers, the screen gets moved to the right by 1/2", toggling the DVI/VGA input switch restores the correct video.

Other Thoughts: Don't be confused by the cheaper versions of this model. If you want 1600x1200 on each screen you need this one, the enhanced version.
This is a digital only kvm(per specs), vga adapters will not work with this. You need native DVI.

2 out of 5 eggsUnreliable KVM

Pros: Dual DVI.

Cons: PS/2. Logitech SetPoint driver is lost each time I switch between computers. Sometimes video signal is garbled, or ceases priodically, or is "out of range". When starting a computer, it must be selected in KVM from POST until the video driver is completley loaded. (Otherwise the computer will not be recognized by KVM.)

Other Thoughts: This KVM does not accept analog signal. All the necessary cables are included. Length is 2m (6.6'). But their ivory color does not match with the color of KVM at all. Design and color of KVM are mediocre.

In general this KVM is not reliable. It seems that I have to stick to a dual VGA KVM for a while until a reliable DVI KVM is released.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product - weak quality control

Pros: Dual-DVI monitor support; heavy-duty cables; good overall design and feature set.

Cons: The manufacturer's quality control is a little shaky. The first unit I got was defective. I could only get one monitor working at a time, and only briefly before the colors would distort. Newegg RMA process was excellent! Second unit has worked fine for almost a year.

Other Thoughts: The connections have to be screwed down very tight on the switch box or the monitors get no signal. Great prodect if only LinksKey could get their QC act together.

5 out of 5 eggsLinksKey NOT Linksys

Comments: http://www.linkskey.com/kvm/ldv-dm04esk.htm

Had I realized it was a LinksKey, I'm not sure I would have bought it. But it actually works great. The included cables were nice hefty cables with ferrite chokes (much nicer than the ones that were included with the monitors - Samsung 213T's). You get two replacement cables for both your LCDs and four sets of DVI cables molded with ps/2 cables. Image quality is great (dual 1600x1200@60Hz).

The ps/2 to USB adapter (for the Mac) also works fine through this box.
