2 out of 5 eggsPoor quality KVM switch

Pros: It came with the cables. The hotkeys are handy.

Cons: I have had the same problem as Grainmaker:
- Locks up frequently requiring switch to be rebooted.
- Does not allow the computers to shut down monitor in screen saver mode so monitors are on all the time.

Other Thoughts: Get a different switch.

5 out of 5 eggsGood USB KVM

Pros: Awesome KVM. I have USB kb & mice and they work flawlessly. Good price for a 4 port kvm. Easily scaled/upgraded by getting more of the same units ... can daisy chain to make up to 64 ports.

Cons: Don't know how to turn off the beep (which happens on every port switch)

Other Thoughts: I only have generic kb and mouse so I don't know how well it works with kb with extra functionality. Instead of getting a 2 port kvm, spend a little more to get this with 4 ports.

2 out of 5 eggsMissed the mark

Pros: Easy setup, includes cables, small foot print.

Cons: Screen recovery when switched is very slow (3 to 7 sec.). only works with a limited number of keyboards and mice. Locks up frequently requiring switch to be rebooted. Does not allow the computers to shut down monitor in screen saver mode so monitors are on all the time.

Other Thoughts: IO Gear replaced my original unit under warranty. The replacement unit suffered the same inherrent problems. They missed the mark on this one.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Works exceedingly well with standard USB keyboards and mice.

Cons: Noticed some minor refresh rate issues with my LCD. Serious lag in true DOS-mode with my Dell server (F8 boot-up options menu).

Other Thoughts: I've found KVMs to be hit or miss, and this one is a definite hit. It has a minor refresh-rate issue with my LCD which I'm sure I could fix given 15 minutes.

1 out of 5 eggsBack to the drawing board

Pros: It didn't blow up.

Cons: Supports only the most basic keyboards and mice (at least I think it does). Would not work with my keyboard (Logitech G15) or my mouse (Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer). According to their tech support, this thing has issues with any "extended functionality devices", and only works with the most plain-jane 2-button mice and regular 101-key usb keyboards.

Other Thoughts: Way overpriced considering its staggering limitations.
