5 out of 5 eggsThe best

Pros: Good buffer memory. Fires up quickly. Attractive. Lifetime warranty.

Cons: D-Link support.

Other Thoughts: We use one of these in our office and I've put quite a few out for customers. No issues to speak of - auto-negotiates correctly right away and I have only once had to reboot the one in our office, which has hundreds of gigabytes pushed through it each and every day.

I don't much care for D-Link's super-low end cheapie stuff, but anything mid-consumer grade and higher is great. I've had to deal with their tech support a couple times to get an RMA on other products and (insert deity name) help you, because no one else can.

4 out of 5 eggsLove these things

Pros: Inexpensive. Free shipping. Lifetime warranty. Pushes well over 150MB/sec consistently. Never needs a reboot even when worked hard. Stays relatively cool.

Cons: Tech support and returns is awful with D-Link.

Other Thoughts: We've put quite a few of these out over the last couple years, and they really do a great job. If you don't need managed technology within your switch - that is, if you just need something that supports Jumbo frames and allows networked devices to push 'true' Gigabit - this is a great option. Again, I'd give it 5 stars as a product, but I've had to deal with D-Link's support to obtain RMAs with other items enough times (I own a tech support company) and it's just terrible. I generally get the SquareTrade add-on warranty with anything D-Link because obtaining an RMA is - well, terrible.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great right out of the box

Pros: Works great right out of the box. Plugged it into the router, plugged my server and PC's into the switch and everything worked.

I bought two.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Rack mounting brackets could have additional holes to facilitate shelf mouting. I re-drilled the switch end of the bracket and have the switch screw'd to a shelf in our media closet.

5 out of 5 eggsaffordable, low power, 100% silent Gigabit switch

Pros: 24 port affordable, low power, 100% silent Gigabit switch. It was not even warm in my wiring closet after transferring hundreds of gigs of data to my new server. Highly recommended.

Cons: Its not a 48 port?

NO CONS at all.

5 out of 5 eggs24+ Months and no isssues

Pros: Have tasked this with heavy data transfers and back ups, but mainly use it for streaming video and 10+ seat LAN gaming. Had 16 people playing UT3 and average latency was about 3ms.

Cons: Not managed, but for under $200 what do you expect. Also the fan can be loud if you dont have the switch in a closet.

Other Thoughts: Newegg has always been quick to ship an order and it has always arrived within expected delivery window.
