5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: D-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - (2) iPad/iPhone/Smart phone Fast Charging Port (5) USB 2.0 Hub & Power adapter

Pros: Small, lots of usb ports. Two of which give more power than a standard port for fast charging. can be used without the power adapter but doesn't support fast charging without it.

Cons: None that I have found. I haven't had any issues with it, weather in OSX, Windows 8.1 or Linux

1 out of 5 eggsFried 2 (Two) Surface Pro's

This review is from: D-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - (2) iPad/iPhone/Smart phone Fast Charging Port (5) USB 2.0 Hub & Power adapter

Pros: Lots of USB ports.

Cons: Ports work sometimes and don't work other times, as many of the other reviewers have stated the thing constantly connects and reconnects devices and it self with nothing plugged into the hub on my desktop PC.

I also have a second of these D-Link hubs that I use with a Surface Pro… One night when I plugged it into the Surface I heard a pop and the backlight on the screen went dead. Not realizing that it was the HUB I sent the Surface back for replacement. Got the new Surface Pro and plugged the HUB in. The whole device froze. Had to hard reset. That's when I realized that the HUB is the problem and probably what caused the backlight to short. I then tested the USB port on the new Surface pro and discovered that nothing is now recognized in the UBS port. This hub killed two tablets...

Other Thoughts: I got two bad hubs from D-Link, one destroyed a tablet another is whacked out.

Not touching another D-Link USB product again.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job it is supposed to..

This review is from: D-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - (2) iPad/iPhone/Smart phone Fast Charging Port (5) USB 2.0 Hub & Power adapter

Pros: * Sleek design
* 2 USB ports for turbo charging stuff while computer is off

Cons: * Power block (thing that actually plugs into power outlet) is large and horizontal. Blocks outlets when used on a power strip.

Other Thoughts: * A little light, so some coiled/kinked cords will lift it off the ground. Not that big of a deal though.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute TRASH

This review is from: D-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - (2) iPad/iPhone/Smart phone Fast Charging Port (5) USB 2.0 Hub & Power adapter

Pros: None

Cons: I use D-link products and love them but this thing is trash and a total disappointment, Just like other reviewers have noted, this hub constantly loses connectivity. My machine keeps rediscovering my android phone every few seconds. and the same goes with any other device I plug into it. Absolute JUNK. I have a hub I got on a famous auction site that ends in "bay" at half the price that works flawlessly. Don't waste your money on this item.

Other Thoughts: STAY AWAY

2 out of 5 eggsSometimes flaky ports

This review is from: D-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - (2) iPad/iPhone/Smart phone Fast Charging Port (5) USB 2.0 Hub & Power adapter

Pros: Convenient, compact, lots of ports, usable for charging MP3 player

Cons: Loses connections intermittently when used with a MacMini. Have repeatedly had to unplug and replug USB keyboard to get it to recognize. Happens erratically when the Mac goes to sleep or is turned on. Usually removing the USB cable from the hub does the trick, but one recent time I had to restart the Mac to establish a connection to the keyboard. Some trouble with mouse and USB external drives, but the big problem is with the keyboard. This is an intermittent problem, a flaky connection, which can be maddening. Not limited to one port; sometimes switching ports helps, but sometimes it doesn't.

Other Thoughts: This feels like it may be a manufacturing flaw in this device, but it could be a design flaw.

Manufacturer Response:

We want to thank you for the feedback as we greatly appreciate the input and comments and we are sorry to hear that you encountered issues with the product. We advise you to contact our technical support team for troubleshooting. They can be reached by visiting www.support.dlink.com or by calling 1-877-453-5465. • Hardware (excluding power supplies and fans): One (1) Year
• Power supplies and fans: One (1) Year

We thank you for choosing D-Link.

4 out of 5 eggsD-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - (2) iPad/iPhone/Smart phone Fast Charging Port (5) USB 2.0 Hub & Power adapter

This review is from: D-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - (2) iPad/iPhone/Smart phone Fast Charging Port (5) USB 2.0 Hub & Power adapter

Pros: Compact, compatible, functional, performance, easy to set up, 360-rotational female power cord plug...

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Arrived earlier than promised from seller; excellent packaging to prevent damage.

Agree with Angela B; "no performance degradation under a load."

Fully charged (4% battery level) Samsung Note 3 in approximately 1 hour and 7 minutes minutes using Fast Charge port.

Able to access Note 3's internal file system and SD card seamlessly using USB connection.

Haven't experienced disconnection issues as other reviewers have stated. (Cold start and wake up/sleep mode); works extremely well (HP-Win 7 Home Premium x64).

Average transfer speed for a large file (> 1.49 GB): 32.4 Mb/s to an external (USB connected) hard-drive.
Average transfer speeds for a large file (> 1.49) using Bluetooth dongle: 97.9 KB/s.

1 out of 5 eggsKeeps disconnecting

This review is from: D-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub - (2) iPad/iPhone/Smart phone Fast Charging Port (5) USB 2.0 Hub & Power adapter

Pros: -Looks good
-Works great for when you are plugging in keyboards, mouse, and headphones

Cons: -Keeps disconnecting and reconnecting on windows 8.1, no matter what port you use it always will do this. Everything still works fine just really annoying. I have been told this is a common problem with this unit.
