2 out of 5 eggsDid not last

Pros: Modular was great.

Had the power for lots of parts.

Good build quality from the outside.

Cons: Did not last at all. Died less than 2 years after purchase. Expected more from a Gold certified PSU. But it looks like I'm not the only one where the PSU lasted just around 2 years. Very wary of NZXT reliability now...

Other Thoughts: If I did not keep my old Corsair PSU, my system would be unusable right now. And this system is where I do all my photography stuff.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsLasted 2 Years

Pros: I was looking for a white PSU, and well.... its white. Additionally it was going into a NZXT case with mostly NZXT matching white fans. It looks really cool!

Cons: Lasted only 2 years, not fully modular.

Other Thoughts: This thing died on exactly 2 years after I installed it. It was used daily for about 12 hours a day, at least.

After it died and having read horror stories about NZXT RMA's I was worried it wouldn't get replaced.

Fortunately all the nay-sayers were wrong. NZXT's RMA process is simple and hassle free. It has been less than 2 weeks since I requested the RMA and sitting in front of me in a brand new unopened box is the replacement.

Obviously these cry-babies talk'n smack about NZXT cant lift a finger to learn abut the RMA process but can make the time to rage how bad NZXT is. Typical Americans.

3 out of 5 eggsDied after 2 years on the dot.

Pros: White, NZXT, 5 year warranty.

Cons: Died after 2 years.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to go with my NZXT case and white NZXT fans. It went in service May 2011 and died May 2013. Since it still has 3 of its 5 year warranty remaining I plan to RMA it.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Lots of power
Relatively inexpensive
Very efficient
Single rail
Modular

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I got one of these off of the bay for $80 shipped brand new. Which is one of the main reasons I bought it, for the price. Now you can get them for $160-$200 on the bay. I am not sure why the price of them were so low about 3 months ago, but I jumped on it after researching it at www.hardocp.com. This PSU passed all load/stress tests with flying colors, exceeds in build quality, and at a very friendly price. It seems that some of the reviewers on here may have gotten a lemon. Then again, I have only owned it for about 4 months, so there is still a chance for it to fizzle out on me. I have turned it off and on numerous times when testing hardware and troubleshooting computer problems. So far it has provided worry-free operation so I cannot complain, we will see where it stands a few years from now.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent power supply.

Pros: All of the one egg reviews are people that dont know what they're talking about. one person even implied that the Super Flower rebrand was bad??? let me set the record straight. Super Flower is a very good company and all of their units up to 1000W have been proven over and over again to be incredibly stable. I would place Super Flower directly behind Seasonic (and nipping at Seasonic's heels) for reliability and stability.

This power supply has been able to power three GTX 480's @ 800 core each, and a 4.8GHz i7 3930K without faltering. That system is pulling well over 900 watts total draw and the PSU has not once hiccuped.

Buy this PSU and rest assured that it will serve your rig well.

Cons: none whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: TL;DR, Great power supply, NZXT makes good stuff.

1 out of 5 eggsRMA non existant

Pros: Worked well while i had it, silent.

Cons: Power supply died after a year of use. Sent it via rma to nzxt in the beginning of December. Every time i call or email them there is no response whatsoever. I'm getting 0 feedback on what is wrong with it. if you buy this PSU be prepared to have to drop more money for a replacement because these guys have been aweful with their RMA service.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost 2 years and still rocks!

Pros: Handles my Phenom II x6 3.2hgz cpu, 8 ghz ddr 3 1600mhz ram, two gtx 580 1.5gb video cards, four 3 tb hdd's, 240g ssd, 2 blu ray burners, 1 dvd burner, zalman 9500 (red fine/blue fan led) cpu hsf like a champ and laughs at such a pitiful attempt to make it break a sweat

Pretty quiet fan inside it. Loudest fan in my set up is my cpu fan even when i turn it all the way down using the included nob fan controller.

Fast shipping from newegg as always and product arrived unblemished. thank ya much.

Cons: People who bash a product claiming it is defective and DON'T explain how they troubleshoot the problem while whining to the vendor as having bad customer service or no resolution AND are allowed to post reviews her on the egg.

How do you expect other readers to take your review/complain seriously if you DON'T explain how you tried to troubleshoot the problem? DUH. It kind of makes sense that way your credibility doesn't go flying out the window. And yet you all are the same geniuses that CLAIM " somewhat high" or " high " tech knowledge? Who are you trying to convince. Get real.

Notice that I put " average" because I believe in something called ( honesty) and i'm not afraid to admit that even I could learn much more about my psu than I have yet.

Other Thoughts: NZXT has been around for a good while and make quality products. Their Kraken x40 is a perfect example followed by this psu.

Chances are the main reasons those rating this product 1 or two eggs have a problem with this psu is because:
1. they hooked up something incorrectly
2. they have the psu wall power cord also plugg into a weak(er) extension cord {SOMETHING YOU SHOULD NEVER DO..ALWAYS either plug it straight into the wall outlet or into an excellent power strip that also DOESN'T have your guitar's 500 buck or more amplifier also plugged int and turned on. This is electrical common sense and can mess things up)
3. They over bent one or more of the power connections ( and this takes a good bit of strength and stubborness. If you're pretty rough with electronics, you probably shouldn't be building your own pc's.

Every psu manufacturer has the extremely rare chance of shipping out a dud psu. IT HAPPENS, I've spoken with NZXT cs and had a pleasant experience all 10 times ( called for information about my product and recommendations for other customers' builds that I do on the side

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The only reason I bought this PSU was because it was white to go with my theme build so I took a chance.

Cons: Same issue as the user below. I made the purchased on Feb. 16, 2012 and my computer started randomly rebooting and crashed during gaming. The PSU is now dead and I see why it is discontinued.

Other Thoughts: Only buy quality brand power supplies from now on.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't bother, very poor customer support

Pros: Heavy and has a very stable 12v rail. Very much silent and has sleeved cables.

Cons: Lack of customer support, last February one of the phases that delivers power to the cpu (eps 8) failed and nearly ruined my board. After some emails with NZXT they made an excuse that they had no units on hand for RMA so I waited. Before long other but more important matters came up so I didn't bother until recently. Now they didn't reply at all to my recent emails and tickets. I may as well file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Other Thoughts: Buyer beware this is not the best company when it comes to customer service and I later learned that the units that they sell under their brand is actually a rebranded unit from Super Flower.

Manufacturer Response:

First of all, We want to thank you for being a customer of NZXT.

We also want to apologize for the service issue you experienced with our service system, please contact us directly at 626-228-1150 so we can figured out what went wrong with our service to you. we will await for your call. please do contact us.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't last long for the money

Pros: Modular design is great, voltage drop on the rails is consistent. Extra modular plugs make plenty of plugs to get everything

Cons: Lasted less than a year, computer started randomly rebooting and crashing, particularly during games, then finally wouldnt turn on. for the money i spent this power supply should have out lasted the i7 line

Manufacturer Response:
