4 out of 5 eggsVery good Modular PSU

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: -lightweight compared to others of its wattage
-fully modular

Cons: -The 20+4 can not be safely secured on the motherboard, I had an issue with the 4pin connector coming out of the 24 pin connector on the mobo when wiring everything so I am afraid it may slip out at some point
-The sata power connectors were a bit odd, since I had to turn them upside in order for them to fit.

Other Thoughts: Recently ordered this for the computer I was building for my mother. She wanted an all white build so I came looking for this PSU. Everything does work great, with the exceptions of the cons I have listed. Unfortunately it makes me take off an egg for an otherwise great product.

1 out of 5 eggsNZXT HALE82 v2

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: Looks hood in white throne case

Cons: I built myself a computer around Jan 5th 2015, made it for gaming. Woke up on February 24th, a month and a half from when I built it, with a broken power supply. I'm extremely disappointed at the quality of this product. Now I have to use the little bit of money I have left after using this carp in my , and 4.7 Ghz amd build, the pay for a different power supply

Other Thoughts: Why are the data cables upside down?????

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Valued NZXT Customer

We do apologize for the inconvenience, we can offer an RMA replacement for you if you would simply visit our website at support.nzxt.com and submit a request at the top right. Also we would need an invoice on file showing the proof of purchase for the PSU. If the ports were upside down it would have to do with the PSU being placed upside down. Some cases do offer bottom ventilation for the PSU so some users in turn do place their PSU’s either up or down. If you have any further questions or concerns please give us a call at 1-800-228-9395.

Kind regards,
NZXT Support.

1 out of 5 eggsNot as powerful as claim

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: Looks good, I guess.

Cons: Doesn't work in a build that works with a 550w power supply. Not providing enough power.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps faulty.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsLooks great read other thoughts

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: Looks great with my white case

Powers my rig (Max VII Hero, I5 4670k, GTX 770)

Fully Modular

All cables are flat except one (see cons)

Cons: 24 pin cable is ugly as sin. multi-colored wires with a black fishnet style sleeve that broke apart during install due to bending. Unacceptable to me. I ended up wrapping the whole thing in black electrical tape and that still looks better than the original cable.

Have had trouble over-clocking my I5, can only hit about 4.2mhz. Yes, I know that not every processor is the same but i have installed the same processor in a friends rig and hit 4.6Mhz without tuning. So i will update once i get my new PSU i just ordered last week.

Other Thoughts: Knocked one egg off for the 24-pin cable and one off due to what i have experienced with this PSU so far.

If you are looking for a simple, fully modular, white PSU that will power a non-overclocked system then this little guy will be your best friend.

So if the reasons i stated for dropping 2 eggs do not apply to you then consider this 5 eggs.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Calmreacher,

Thank you for your feedback regarding the 700w power supply. It is possible that your system may have needed a higher capacity power supply instead of the 700w this unit can provide. Have you browsed our FAQs or contacted our Support team at support.nzxt.com? We are available from 9:30-5:30pm PST M-F to assist you with any questions you may have, and also to help troubleshoot. Please let us know how we can help!

Sincerely,
NZXT. Support

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, cheap power supply

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: Quiet
Full Modular
Enough power to SLI 2 760's
White!

Cons: Cables are ugly and probably too short for an ATX build

Other Thoughts: This was a really good deal at $80 considering the features, I will update if I have problems but for now a great power supply to match the Bitfenix Prodigy M in white.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty, but not perfect

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: Pretty and working.
Very quiet without load. I didn't really noticed it under heavy load, so that's good.

Cons: Connecting everything was not easy.
Cables are a little bit too short, and the SATA are reversed.

forget about "pretty cabling"

Other Thoughts: loosing an egg for a couple of dollars worth of cable.

3 out of 5 eggsNZXT HALE82 700W Modular PSU

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: -White color to match my white NZXT Phantom 630 Windowed case.

-Plenty of power for a single GPU rig.

Cons: -The cables are a bit odd to work with. The connections (specifically the SATA cables) seem to be upside down from what I would have expected coming up from a bottom mounted PSU. When I connect my SSD and 2 HDDs, there are awkward looking little loops of cable sticking out instead of running flat down. The drives are mounted sideways in my case so thankfully the side panel hides this.

-The cables are a little on the stiff side. Not terrible to work with, but could have been a little easier.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for the feedback about the cables! If you ever have any questions for us, please contact our support team via our online Helpdesk at URL: http://nzxt.com/support/. We are available from the hours of 9:30-5:00pm PST to assist you with any issues. Please let us know how we can help!

1 out of 5 eggsWas Given the Wrong 24 Pin Connector

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: It looks nice. Thats all I have to say, because I couldn't physically test the product.

Cons: I was given the wrong 24 pin connector. The 24 pin connector I was given will plug into my motherboard, but it fails to plug into the power supply itself. This is a critical cable and without it the pc I just purchased is pretty much a useless brick.

Other Thoughts: I am very disappointed with NZXT. They made a very large error. I am now stuck with a useless computer that is suppose to be up and running. I waited close to a week for this power supply to arrive and I don't have the time to wait another week for a replacement cable. I am not very happy right now.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We're sorry to hear about your difficulties with the included cables of the PSU. Have you contacted our support team at URL: http://nzxt.com/support/? We are avaiable from the hours of 9:30-5:00pm PST M-F. We would be happy to issue you a replacement cable kit for your power supply; it's very strange that the 24pin connector you received is not usable with the power supply!

Sincerely,
NZXT. Support

3 out of 5 eggsRereview

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: I reviewed this and gave it very low marks as it operated horrible. But I moved it to another gaming PC before I RMA it and it was completely normal. So I don't know but be wary if you buy it ! I got a Seasonic X750 and have had zero issues.

Cons: Does not work normally in ever build.

Other Thoughts: Might work normal might not.

2 out of 5 eggsDo not buy, the fan is SUPER loud !

This review is from: NZXT HALE82 V2 700W 700W ATX 12V V2.31 & EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply (Haswell Support)

Pros: Looks nice and runs great at idle. Thats it !

Cons: Under load it is as loud as a jet in you computer.

Other Thoughts: Look else were and save the headache as i RMA this twice and have the same issue. Guess this one is going back too. Had high hopes for NZXT but guess they need help from seasonic.
