Cheap
- Pros: it works.......um..............yeah, thats about it
- Cons: the opener thingy broke right out of the box, 1 fan died in 10 mins(wire came out) and the other never worked, so it dosnt cool. the plastic dosnt help that either.
- Other Thoughts: pay an extra bit to get an aluminum good one
Plastic Mobile Rack
- Pros: Cheap. Good ventilation.
- Cons: Too loud fan. Plastic.
- Other Thoughts: I got a cheap thing for cheap. I was using it less than a week and put it aside. It's too loud.
Horrible fans, okay mobile rack
- Pros: Fit and finish is very nice. One fan up front and one fan in back is a good attempt to ensure airflow is adequate for the task at hand.
- Cons: Fans are low quality sleeve bearing fans and will die quickly. To get any usable life out of these things, you have to replace them with better quality fans. They're not too difficult to replace if you're handy with a soldering iron. Despite good airflow, the plastic tray doesn't draw any heat away from the drive, and makes them run a good deal warmer than they would in an aluminum mobile rack.
- Other Thoughts: I had two of these installed in a cheapo home server that's running 24x7. Ended up replacing them with Kingwin aluminum racks.
