1 out of 5 eggsdied after 3 y. 7m.

Pros: nice and as advertized when it is working

Cons: died after 3 y. 7m. in a very stinky way :) Has always lived behind a surge / power conditioner. My conclusion: must buy better brands ...

3 out of 5 eggsWorked great for awhile.

Pros: I built my PC at the end of 2010. This PSU worked great powering an I7-930 OC'd to 4ghz, and dual GTX 480's OC'd for 2 years.

Cons: Installed Far Cry 3, played for about 30 minutes, apparently Far Cry 3 blew this PSU's face off. This PSU blew sparks out of the back of my case.

Other Thoughts: I ordered another PSU ( Mine also didn't come with the warranty sticker, so I can't return it, such terrible business practice ) Hopefully my other parts are still good....

1 out of 5 eggsTicked off and burned

Pros: Nice long flexible cables that are easy to route and hide.Several years back I bought one of their 650 watt units for an older computer that I have left running 24/7 since the day I fired it up , the only problem I had was one cable had a bad connector ( which Kingwin replaced right away with no questions asked ) so when it was time to build a new computer I went right back to Kingwin. At the time the largest one Newegg carried was this 1000 watt unit & even though I really wanted to buy a 1200 watt or so unit just in case I ever wanted to update video cards I went with the Kingwin they had in stock since I had such good luck with the 650 watt unit ( of course not long after I bought the 1000 watt they started carrying the larger 1300 watt unit )

Cons: I built the new computer for entertainment and when I fired it up everything worked fine but unlike the older computer I rarely used this one , sometimes it would sit for weeks without it being turned on so the 1000 watt unit probably didn't have more than a month or so of actual use. Then one day I went to turn it on and nothing , no pops , smoke , smells nothing , I pulled all the cables and tested every wire but got nothing out of any of them. I pulled out the box it came in to ship it back to Kingwin and then noticed that unlike the 650 watt unit the 1000 watt unit had no warranty sticker on it. Called Kingwin and was told if the seal was tampered with the warranty was void so having no way to prove the unit was shipped without the sticker I am stuck with a bunch of really nice cables.

Other Thoughts: If you do buy one of these make sure you have Newegg open the box and make sure it was shipped with the warranty seal before they ship it to you or you will end up like me ticked off and burned.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome PSU

Pros: Plenty of power
LEDs look great
Modular
Fan is quiet

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great Power Supply. Plenty of power for my rig as I don't run any kind of SLI or Crossfire type set up. It's nice not having to worry about upgrading or installing new components because I know that this power supply will be able to handle anything I put in. It's been going strong for almost a year now and I have had absolutely no problems and no shutoffs due to power overload.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate on prior review

Pros: I've updated my rating to 5 stars based on their hassle free RMA service. Thank you, Kingwin!
As I stated in an earlier review the PS failed after 17 months and I had mistakenly thought that it only had a 1 yr. warrantee when in fact it is 3 yrs. So I sent it back sans cables but followed the other directions for RMA and sure enough a brand new one arrived 2 weeks later complete with all new cables. Don't really need all the extra cables but they may come in handy some day.

Cons: They don't make PS like they used to and with increasing power requirements including heavy draws from crossfire GPU's it seems every mfg. are having products that don't last as long as in the past. It may be they are all made by just a handful of manufacturers in China and branded later because no supplier seems to have a good record. I've tried most of them in the last 5 years.

Other Thoughts: It appears from reading the reviews of the different mfgs. that it is a coin toss on how long they will last and IMO have become the most troublesome device in a new build. At least with a 3 yr. warrantee it really doesn't matter which one you choose because the odds aren't good that they will make it 3 yrs. if you have a loaded computer. Still I would go with the largest wattage I could afford since it seems the harder you work them the shorter the life span.

5 out of 5 eggsTried and True

Pros: - modular, braided, long lock in cables
- Is one of the cleanest power supplies
- solid 12 volt rail (means no phase power) direct 80+ amps
- cool lights
- Heavy

Cons: - The metal locking rings and ends cause about 1 - 2 inch protrusion before you can bend or hide the cable.

Other Thoughts: - It's 2 500watt psu's working together. ( this isn't really a bad thing).

When this psu came out it was reviewed and question why it didn't have a gold rating. It's probably because it's not the most efficient but it has a lot of umf.

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival!

Pros: Pros: I can only imagine what I would say if the thing actually would power on!

Cons: Cons: Dead on arrival, not even a click to indicate that it was ever alive in the first place. Needless to say I will NOT ever buy another Kingswin product again.

1 out of 5 eggsDied 6 months after extended warrantee

Pros: Worked great even though maximum watts the computer was drawing was around 365 watts usually at boot-up and then dropping to around 285 watts while active. I bought it because I had troubles in the past with lower wattage power supplies from a competitor burning up within a year. Running 7 hard drives with an add-on SATA card, a Blu-ray disk drive and a multitude of USB devices.

Cons: I bought this power supply on 8/21/2010 along with a 1 year replacement extended warranty and it bit the dust last week 4/10/2012, seven months after the warranty ran out of course. Hopefully it didn't fry the MoBo.

Other Thoughts: I've been computing for over 20 years and only in the last 3-4 years have I had power supply problems. Seems others also have problems, some even spouting flames. So I figured it was good insurance to get a high wattage model so it might lessen the chance of burning my house down. Well this one didn't spout flames but rather died on boot-up, then trying to boot 2 more times before it completely stopped. The best brand to buy? After researching this for hours I've come to the conclusion than many of them are actually made by a few companies and branded by major computer part manufacturers. So you don't really know who manufactured it in the first place and vendors could switch mfg. over time. This time I flipped a coin and I'm trying the "COOLER MASTER Silent Pro RS850" mainly because of good revues, silence, and of course a good price. From some of the other power supply reviews I've read I guess I'm lucky it lasted 1 year and 7 months.
