5 out of 5 eggsCould not be happier!

Pros: I've been giving praise to Kingwin for a long time and it won't stop here. I now have 4 of the 1220 Watt Mach1's in my house running different systems. I used a 1000watt in my in-laws system and I strictly use Mach1's in all my builds.
The Mil-Spec (Military Specified) connectors in the Kingwin Modular system is far superior to any of the Molex plastic connectors in other manufacturers products. These connectors can not come loose, get cocked and cause shorts or fires like the molex connectors in competitor PSU's. I trust only Mil-spec connectors.

Cons: People who don't use the warranty, people who blame shipping damage on the manufacturer, and people who give negative reviews undeservingly. Take all negative reviews for all products with a grain of salt as most are written in an emotional and nonobjective state of mind.

Other Thoughts: I'm so happy to see these back on Newegg and excited to be able to continue using these in all my builds! Thank you Kingwin and Newegg for bringing back the best PSU I've ever worked with!

List of rigs that have Mach1's in my house:
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition 2011 SOON
ASUS Rampage Extreme 775 running 5 years 24/7
ASUS Sabertooth 1150 6 months 24/7
eVGA 680i 775 1 year 24/7

Proof these are great PSU's. Before bashing a product be an adult and use the warranty, if it's shipping damage blame the shipper not the product, if it's installer error then suck it up and take the blame. Don't bash a good product for your stupidity.

5 out of 5 eggsBring back Mil-Spec connectors

Pros: Been running my ASUS LGA775 Rampage Extreme since new! Been flawless!

Cons: Kingwin has done away with Mil-spec cannon plugs and gone to cheap molex!

Other Thoughts: I want a PSU with Military Spec Cannon Plugs like this one. I managed to buy 2 more before they stopped making them, and I plan to buy another one soon!

5 out of 5 eggsSad to see it go

Pros: This has been a great PSU, I've got 3 of them and had planned to buy a 4th for my next build. I will try to find another one some place else now.

Cons: People who are stupid enough to not follow directions on warranty. Send everything they want the first time. Contact them before you send it in. I have contacted them several times with no issues to ask questions.

People who buy a product and when they have issues with it they buy something else instead of making use of the warranty (which is 3 years).

Other Thoughts: Mil-Spec connectors on the modular connections is way better than Molex junk! The Mach design was the best you could get, but people like lower prices so cheap molex is here to stay. Fools, Mil-spec is way better!

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY!!!! WARNING READ FIRST

Pros: IT is a 1220 power supply and it lites up and has a good connection system its actualy newbie proof

Cons: I would have gave it a negative egg if i could!!!!it last me 6 months and it broke the bed and to send it in under warrenty you must pay to send it in for repair or replacement which will cost you around $16.00 with tracking and insurrance you must get to protect your self from there shady opperation then they will give many problems if you do not send every thing in they request and your warrenty is voided and you can never get in touch with them unless you call everyday all day. there is only 1 yes 1 guy that deals with rma, tech support, and everything else which he is annoying always saying um yea,yea when asking to speak to a manager well im sorry but he is the mannager lol he deals with it all lol PLEASE i advise you DO NOT BUY FROM KING WIN i am warrning you!!!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsI got 3 now....

Pros: I've had one of these installed in my rig for over a year now with no issues, on 24/7. I had an earlier review titled "Another year and still ticking!". I've bought 2 more of these for my kids rigs which are going into NZXT Phantom cases. I tested them both with my nifty PSU tester and all is great. I also installed the 1000 watt Mach1 in my in-laws computer a year ago and it's running fine. I swear by these and can't say enough about the Military Spec connectors they use, cannon plugs rule! Screw the molex melty plastic modular designs out there. The rest of my review will now be the public service announcement about stupidity....

Cons: people confusing man made products for perfection. Come on people nothing in this world is flawless and you're going to have a few bad apples in any product, or for that matter species.

Again to reiterate my past past post, I know that having a bad one here or there is a reality, and it seems most of us realize this, but some people seem to expect everything built by man to run perfectly every time on everything built, and this is just unrealistic.

I wish there was a better way to hold manufacturers accountable for it when they have an obvious problem and quality is BAD, but the only way is to stop buying what they sell and hurt them that way. Kingwin is not one of them, they had a few bad ones out of THOUSANDS sold, consider that! Now thousands + 4

Other Thoughts: Kingwin needs to keep Mil-Spec connectors on their top of the line series, then build a cheap Molex series for the tightwads of the world who want a rig built out of cheap parts from cheap manufacturers.

Newegg needs to do better when packaging some items and we need to hold them responsible for that, not the manufacturer. So I told you I bought two Phantom cases for my kids rigs. I ordered them from Newegg and when they were supposed to be here only one showed up and it was broken. Then the shipper lost the other one and I had to wait for the replacement for more than a week to be shipped out. I can't say enough how bad the packaging is with Newegg on everything. Newegg needs to wrap the original package in bubble wrap and put that box inside another. They save a $1.00 on packing just to have more RMA's that go to the manufacturer for cost of a bad product when it was the packing and shipping that was at fault!

2 out of 5 eggsPsu dead after 9 months

Pros: Great consistent rail voltages and seemed like a great PSU. It ran quiet and the cable management was great.

Cons: Blew up after 9 months of owning it.

Other Thoughts: I gave it 2 eggs for the cable management and quietness of the PSU. Other than that, it's dead.

This unit was never in an enclosed area, ambient temp was around 55-65F. While listening to the PSU I hear a tick every time I unplug, re-plug, and try to restart - dead. Replaced it with an older OCZ 700w PSU and my system runs fine; thankfully it didn't take anything else out with it. Now the fun RMA game.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother year and still ticking!

Pros: Update time is here! It's a year after my last review and guess what, it's still working great! I leave my system on 24/7 unless out of town or a storm is in the area. This is so far the second greatest PSU I ever bought as my 10 year old Aero 750w (not made anymore) is still working after being on 24/7 for 5 years and now only on when my son is on his computer (my old rig). So I would say this Kingwin product seems just as good as anything I have ever owned.
I've now build a few new systems for people I know and I used Kingwin exclusively in the builds. Please pay attention: NONE OF MY BUILDS HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE KINGWIN PSU. I love the Mil-spec or military spec connectors used for making this PSU modular! Best modular design ever! Molex can over heat, melt, and warp causing shorts and electrical fires, molex bad, mil-spec good!

Cons: First off, Kingwin seems to be moving away from Mil-Spec to cheap molex connectors on the modular set up, BAD KINGWIN!

Second, people confusing man made products for perfection. Come on people nothing in this world is flawless and your going to have a few bad apples in any product or for that matter species.

Again to reiterate my past post, I know that having a bad on here or there is a reality and it seems most of us realize this, but some seem to expect everything built by man to run perfectly every time on everyone built and this is just unrealistic. Kingwin is not one of them, they had a few bad ones out of THOUSANDS sold, consider that!

Other Thoughts: Kingwin needs to go back to Mil-Spec connectors on their top of the line series, then build a cheap Molex series for the tightwads of the world.
Newegg needs to do better when packaging some items and we need to hold them responsible for that, not the manufacturer. Hard drives in boxes 3-4 times the size of the bare drive wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap is not going to cut it. I've bought drives off E bay with way better packaging! Ebayers double bubble wrap the drive and put it into a box it fits snug in, then bubble wrap that and put it into a box it fits snug in. CPU's shipped in a box 2-3 times it's size with no packing or bubble wrap is not an acceptable way to ship either. I ordered a HIS 4670IceQ AGP card recently and Newegg shipped it in a bigger box with the card on the bottom and paper on the top of that, duh! They save a $1.00 on packing just to have more RMA's that go to the manufacturer for cost of a bad product when it was the packing and shipping that did it in.

5 out of 5 eggsNice PSU

Pros: Very powerful. A LOT of connectors. Glows blue =).

Cons: Some of the cables, like for the 12v rails for the mobo, are a little short in a large style case where the PSU is sitting on the bottom. Not that they don't reach at all, it's just you won't have a lot of slack to work with if you want to do any neat cable management scheme.

Other Thoughts: The last three PSU's I have owned are Kingwing Mach1 series (a 500, 750, and now this 1220) and all of them are still working and functional in all the machines they were installed in. The 500 even had to deal with a year of really bad fluctuating AC current going into it and it still powered through and works great. I love Kingwing and this series of PSU, they look GREAT and work GREAT.

Pros: I never had a chance to use it.

Cons: Supply was dead out of the box.

Other Thoughts: Save your money and time, look for another power supply.
