4 out of 5 eggsGood PSU Overall

Pros: Love the modular design. Helped making my new PC build very easy. Plenty of cables and connectors. The LED light is a nice touch.

Cons: Someone else pointed it out earlier but the cables could be tad bit longer. I wasn't able to get them all through and behind the grommets of my Phantom NZXT full case tower because they weren't long enough.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great. Has Flaws

Pros: 850w is way more than enough for my build.
It was on sale for $90 when I bought it.
Has not made any noises or pooped the bed, and I've had the thing for about two years now.
Modular

Cons: Kinda modular...
I'd prefer the SATA cable to be much longer, and also is it too much to ask for separate SATA cables instead of one cable with 4 connectors? After all, this is the first modular psu I've purchased.

They purposefully don't show you the hideous laZer sticker on the side. I hear it adds 25hp....

Other Thoughts: I feel like they hide some things from the customer in the marketing process and for that I will tell you to just buy something reputable and hope it has a good warranty.

It works well though.

4 out of 5 eggs5 months and still kicking

Pros: I bought this psu January of this year. It has been working flawlessly ever since. It powers a FX-6100 oc'd to 4.5ghz, a HD 7770 power edition gpu, a H100i, 5 channel fan controller, light scribe dvd burner, and a WD 400gb hdd in a Cooler Master Haf 932.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Thinking about upgrading my cpu to the FX-8350 and either getting a 7870 gpu or crossfiring my 7770

2 out of 5 eggsPSU Died today

Pros: Worked fine for a year.
Strong PSU
Good looking, switchable lights.
Modular

Cons: Died after a year of use.

Other Thoughts: Good PSU but it did not make it more than a year of use. I bought this around this time in 2012 and it died on me today while gaming.

Rig shut off, and will not power back on. The lights flicker when I hit the start button but that's it, nothing else. Note that USB devices are still getting power, but it can't output what is needed for anything else.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: I've been running this PSU in my desktop that I built in 2011... I got it on 2/11/2011 and I think I had the computer finished around march... Never had an issue with it. There's tons of wires and connections and the glowing blue really does add a nice touch if you have a case you can see into.

Cons: Tons of wires are good but also thick and bulky and can easily get in the way if you don't have a lot of clearance. I built this in a small-ish Thermaltake lan box case and it works, but ya know... hopefully by the time I need a new PSU, we won't be using immensely thick wires to connect our stuff.

Other Thoughts: Running a GTX 470 sc and a 500gb hard drive on an asus p8p67 pro with 4gb of mushkin enhanced ram.. clearly due for an upgrade but I don't think I'll have to touch the PSU. I was hesitant about the purchase at first but all is well over here. No issues.

5 out of 5 eggsPOWER!!

Pros: LIGHTS!! lol ok I've had this since 2011. It runs everything I need and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. I am running a quad core phenom 2.3 ghz, 8 gigs of DDR3 ram, 2 Ge Force 8800 GTX's SLI'd, 3 Hard Drives, Lightscribe DVD-RW, 2 dvi lcd monitors, and 5 fans. No problems, and no hiccups. Best power supply I've ever had.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggs2.5 years strong

Pros: Purchased 10/13/2010 - Running strong for 2.5 years

Modular design that is both effective and easy to use.
- Modular SATA power + 4 pin, (2) 6-pin PCI, (2) 6+2-pin PCI

This power supply has had no problem powering 2 crossfire 5850's, 2 crucial ssd's, 2 WD 1tb hard drives, and two optical drives.
Room to expand more SATA devices (assuming your motherboard can keep up)

This power supply is more than capable of powering my build, which I have expanded to its' limits.

~
The LED color switch is a nice touch for those who are interested in the visual appeal of their cases.

Cons: 24-pin cable length. I believe it would benefit from being about 6 inches longer. To avoid running it over the top my graphics cards, I simply purchased a 24-pin extender for a few bucks at the same time as this power supply. (easy remedy)

Adjacent SATA devices require a relatively tight bend in the sata power chain. The plugs are spaced well enough to fit hard drives/optical drives but two ssd's in a docking station are a tight squeeze. The cables DO still fit securely onto both drives. (minor detail, expect this from most all power supplies)

(Tri-fire/Triple SLI is out of the question with this power supply... But if you REALLY needed that functionality you wouldn't be looking at an 850w)

Other Thoughts: I purchased this power supply in October 2010 to give myself room for future expansion. Within 1 year I had an additional graphics card and ssd. By the end of the 2nd year I had added another 1tb storage drive and a blu-ray optical drive.
Through 2 and a half years of ownership this Kingwin has powered my system for gaming and home theater DVR via cable card.

I have been very satisfied with this power supply from first boot, and will certainly stick to Kingwin in the future.

3 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: I just got this from newegg tonight. I installed it in and it fired my gaming rig right up without any issues. I love the way this psu is setup with the "crystal cubes" and modular design.

Cons: I feel kingwin could have used a different type of switch for the LED's in the back. The leds over all should be a little brighter.

Other Thoughts: I noticed there are quite a bit of bad reviews for this psu, but I figured I take my chances especially since I had a brand new corsair GS600 psu die on me within 1-2 months last year and I've been using a $40 RAIDMAX RX-530ss psu ever since then til this kingwin arrived.

I'll give another review in a few months and give more eggs if this thing is still kicking that long.
