1 out of 5 eggsstay away from KINGWIN!

Pros: Looks good. Modular

Cons: power supply had constant issues, finally got around to attempting to RMA the unit and kingwins tech support is non existent. Stick with a reputable company when it comes to power supplies.

Other Thoughts: Stick with reputable brands, Kingwin has NO tech support.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted almost 4 years.

Pros: The lights are neat, and the product worked perfectly while it lasted. Even while running two video cards in SLI doing SETI@home, it seemed to operate flawlessly. I'm now back down to one video card, but still overclocking.

Cons: 1000 Watts is quite a bit more than my needs, but after bad experiences with other products, I thought I would buy something high-end, and opted for this PSU, hoping that it would be the last I would ever have to buy for for that computer. After about 4 years of ownership, a capacitor exploded, making a loud bang and sending sparks and smoke out the back of the unit. I wasn't doing anything to stress the PSU that night. It was a little warm in my room, but that shouldn't matter, and I regularly dust out my computers with an air compressor. I would have given it two or three stars, but I had bad experiences with at least one other Kingwin product.

Other Thoughts: Why do power supplies break so frequently? I realize PSUs are high-stress, but c'mon, the technologies inside these things are decades old. Surely, there are component manufacturers out there still making quality stuff.

2 out of 5 eggs3 Year warranty for a reason.

Pros: It gets the job done.

Cons: There is a three year warranty for a reason: one month after my third year of having this power supply it crapped out on me.

2 out of 5 eggsPopped Cap

Pros: 1KW of power.
Worked well while it worked.
The universal connectors are ingenious.
Looked pretty cool.

Cons: At about 850-900W from the wall, I had a cap pop on the PSU. Luckily I was there to throw the switch on my power strip before something caught on fire. It burned up my second 6950, and partially fried my mobo; the I/O panel and USB headers no longer work, and the second PCIe slot is dead.

Other Thoughts: The reason I didn't just give it one star is because the company was willing to replace the destroyed components after submitting them a case and documenting everything, however, this proved to be unnecessary, as the manufacturers themselves are willing to replace them. All that's left to do is RMA the unit.

1 out of 5 eggsDecent item horrible customer support

Pros: Looks cool, cables unplug for less clutter, decent.

Cons: Horrible customer service.

Other Thoughts: After 1 month realized there was a mfg defect (loose wire internally) the slightest bump would make my pc turn off. I called Kingwin for warranty and they told me that i had to mail it in and wait up to 90 days for a replacement after the initial 48 hrs from the time they receive it to even begin that process. When I explained I needed the pc for work and cant be without it for 90 days and offered to PAY for a replacement unit to be sent to me before i removed the defective one, so I can still work. They would not sell it to me and refused to take my credit card for a deposit on the replacement unit, i even offered to pay the all the shipping charges on top of it Rep and supervisor also became extremely rude and had attitudes like i was bothering them by needing a warranty replacement, constantly talked over me. They just refused to work with me at all. At this point i just ordered a competitors unit and threw it away. I will never buy from Kingiwin again. ultimately was a waste of money

5 out of 5 eggsA little Overkill

Pros: It works, it was pretty inexpensive for a well built 1000 watt power supply. It's quiet! The lights are snazzy, and if you don't like them, you can turn them off. Wish it had an orange setting so it matched my case fans. I knew that buying it though!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I could have bought an 850 watt and had plenty of headroom, but I bought a 1000 watt. Never hurts to have more if you ever need it though!

Kinda wish all the crystal cube connector slots lit up even if they weren't in use just to give it a more uniform look. But not a biggie.

Pros: A fairly cheap 100watt PSU with a lot of optional addons (Sata power, fan power, pci power etc.

Cons: Not enough AMP's to run an SLI setup. Great for just a CPU/GPU

4 out of 5 eggsWorked good while it lasted

Pros: The module aspect is really nice for cable management. The power supply offers a lot of power and the cable are long enough for the most part.

Cons: It worked for 2 and a half years but it has died. It is still under warranty so I can RMA. However they do not offer cross-shipping and I have to pay to send them back their product.

Other Thoughts: It did not die at once. It acted as if it had a short. I had to turn off the power supply and back on to get the computer started and it worked for some time, but now it has officially died.
