1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: None

Cons: Died on me 3 seconds after I connected it to my new computer. Even caught a whiff of electrical smell. Go figure, MADE IN CHINA. So sad.

5 out of 5 eggsPlenty of power for a budget

Pros: For the price, this was the best power supply on newegg with a large max amperage on a single 12V rail, great for modern power hungry CPU's, like the AMD FX8120 8 core. Quiet fan, Fairly long cables, sleeve on the ATX 20+4 connector, multiple PCI-E power cables with a 6 + 2 available. 2 ATX 12V Connectors can work as 4+4 on an 8 pin motherboard header.

Powers this rig without breaking a sweat:
AMD FX8120
ASRock 970 Extreme3 AMD 970/950 chipset
4 x 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz
Radeon 6850
120GB Adata SSD 2.5"
250GB Seagate 7200 RPM HDD 2.5"
3TB Seagate 7200 RPM HDD 3.5"
24X Asus DVD-RW
USB Keyboard and Mouse
Up to 10 USB Powered devices (my mobo max) including flash drives, joysticks and 2.5" USB powered hard drives.

Cons: I knew this when I bought it - only has 4 SATA power cables on a single wire, so with bigger cases you may need an molex to sata adapter to power your optical disks, or more than 4 devices.

Other Thoughts: I have bought kingwin before and had no problems, I would buy again. For the price you can't beat this unit!

4 out of 5 eggsCheap 650W Supply

Pros: Inexpensive ($36 plus $6 shipping-cheapest power supply in the 600-700W bracket), plenty of connectors, cool.

Cons: The coil whine. It would start up whenever the computer is doing stressful work (eg playing games, booting up Windows). Some cables might be too short and/or too close together. The 20 pin + 4 pin and some SATA connectors might be a little hard to install.

Other Thoughts: Despite the cons, this is one of the most reasonable power supplies on Newegg-650W for $42 bucks is a pretty good deal. If you don't do that much stressful work (like me), the coil whine shouldn't be that bad of a problem. However, if you're a gamer or need a lot of connectors, you might want a better one.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap 650W Supply

Pros: Inexpensive (at $36 plus $6 shipping, cheapest power supply in the 600-700W group) for the wattage, plenty of connectors, stays cool.

Cons: A little whine here and there, cable management is slightly challenging, some cables are too short and/or too close together, and a few connectors might be hard to get in.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this power supply is a great buy. The pros outweigh the cons because at least for me, I do not do very stressful work on my processor (a i5-3570K), so the coil whine only appears during times like startup. Always check to make sure that the power supply includes more connectors (and wattage!) than you need in case of some being too short. For me, I only needed roughly 400W, but this ensured that I have plenty of room to expand.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, does what it supposed to do if you don't put load on it.

Cons: Coil Whine. I had the thing for a month and it suddenly started squealing (whining) whenever I started up a game.

The more intense the graphics the worse the whine gets. I checked out my graphics card and 100% determined it is this PSU making it.

Other Thoughts: I'm switching to a SeaSonic or OCZ.

Another review here has the same coil whine issue I have.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's a screamer.

Pros: Cheap, does what it's supposed to, cables can easily be kept tidy, fan moves lots of air.

Cons: I don't deal with many different high end setups so I'm not sure how normal this is, even after some Googling. When my GPU is under load, depending on what it's doing, this thing makes a loud, high pitched screaming sound that overpowers the fans and my speakers. Quite irritating. Particularly happens at higher framerates when the power usage changes very quickly.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, it does the job just fine, but it sounds like a kettle.

5 out of 5 eggsTo Easy

Pros: Easy to install, incredibly easy to setup with powered components

Cons: It was a 1/4 too long for the bracket in my case. Not at all a big con, but I thought it would fit. Still fits in there and stays with the 4 screws!

Other Thoughts: So far so good! Will update in 30 days :)

4 out of 5 eggsGood power supply for a budget gamer

Pros: It works, it has all the connectors you would need.

Cons: Cables are a tad short so you don't have as much flexibility with cable management as you might like. Especially if your chassis has a bottom mount power supply.
