A new standard in power supplies is here; the Kingwin Lazer Platinum LZP-850 is one of the world’s first 80 Plus Platinum Power Supplies. With 80 PLUS PLATINUM certification, it has achieved an efficiency rate of up to 92% under 50% load. Kingwin LZP-850 also has a built in exclusive ECO Intelligent Thermal Control System, a zero noise operation for the power supply when first turned on. The fan will not rotate until the temperature reaches a default temperature. If you want absolute efficiency with supreme performance and quietness, LZP-850 will be the weapon of your choice.

  • newegg 80 PLUS Platinum Certified The 80 PLUS Platinum certified power supply provides ultra-high power efficiency of 92% at 50% load, 90% Efficiency at 20% load, 89% Efficiency at 100% load, saving your money on your electrical bill, reducing heat in your computer's system and prolonging its life.
  • newegg 850W continuous power with Single Strong +12V Rail Compliance with ATX 12V v2.2, EPS 12V v2.91, and SSI EPS 12V v2.92 Specification, the Kingwin LZP-850 is capable of delivering 850W of 80 PLUS Platinum certified, continuous output. A single high current +12V rail @ 70A design ensures the best compatibility and maximum provision of 12V power to multi-core CPUs and energy-hungry graphics cards.
  • newegg Crystal Cube Modular Plug w/ Power Connector Cable Management System The crystal cube modular connector cable design allows use of only the cables you need and easier cable routing inside the case, resulting in improved airflow and reduced system clutter.
  • newegg Supports CrossFireX/SLI 5 x 6+2-Pin PCI-E connectors are included to support multiple graphic cards in CrossFireX or SLI.
  • newegg 140mm Fan with Unique ECO Intelligent Thermal Control System Intelligent Auto Fan Speed Control on the large 140mm fan ensures exceptional cooling performance as well as minimum noise. Moreover, with Kingwin’s special ECO Intelligent Thermal Control System, the fan does not rotate until the temperature reaches a critical point; the RPM of the fan will self-adjust according to the temperature maintaining a linear relationship. And when the temperature descends to a critical point, the fan will stop rotating. This can significantly increase the life span of the fan and power efficiency by reducing unnecessary rotation and consumption.

1 out of 5 eggsPossible fire hazard; Non-existent support.

Pros: Your standard, average cost, high efficiency power supply that delivers clean and reliable power for 1 year to date...

Cons: Your substandard power supply that faults after 1 year, into its "warranted" 3 year period, with non-existent support from an unreachable manufacturer. The story is: a modular plug on the power supply end became seized during the year's use, and became removable only with a plier. Upon extraction I witnessed the pin(s) charred black, burnt and melted the surrounding plastic. It could have caused a fire if used any longer! Quickly I e-mailed the manufacture's tech support with pictures in regard (thought they'd be interested) and inquire about possible RMA (which I thought would be remote given the plug damage) because it is a serious safety matter.

Now fast forward to about a month later. Still not a peep from the manufacturer. After a while, one can't help but wonder: Does Kingwin care about its products or customers?

Other Thoughts: The Company's "about us" web page proudly states "...Kingwin is dedicated to producing innovative products and provide unparalleled customer service...and stand behind our products 100%". That with good reviews from a reputable retailer like Newegg led me to buy the product. But now that judgement is in question. When a company does not back the fundamental principle it touts of basic support, what chance is there it truly backs its specifications on products or warranty?

That is a question posed to you, the buyer.

5 out of 5 eggs1 of the best.

Pros: Plugged into my system and it didn't randomly shut off due to too much power usage....Intel QX6700 OC @ 3.6ghz 4gigs kingston ram, SLI 285GTX, Sound Blaster X-FI, bigfoot Networks, Synapse Cache Drive for WD Cadaviar 1TB = power hungry system and this thing pushing it out no problem

Cons: made kind of a feint humming skreech when i first plugged it in but after a week it went away.

Other Thoughts: I still haven't received the 40$ mail in rebate and its been about 2 months..

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Power Supply

Pros: Modular connectors are solid
Super quiet
Build quality seems good
Flat modular cables

Cons: Non modular cables are pretty thick, especially since there are 3 fixed cables, 24-pin power, 8-pin EPS, and 6+2 pin PCI.
Newegg product description incorrectly shows it has 2 8-pin EPS connectors. Unit only has 1.

Other Thoughts: I was really surprised by this power supply. It is the lowest cost Platinum rated supply and I was not sure what to expect even though most tech websites that have reviewed the Kingwin LZP series give it very high marks.

Incredibly quiet, in ECO setting the fan doesn't even come on. This thing does not break a sweat. It powers an overclocked Xeon E5-1650 @ 4.0Ghz and 2 Sapphire Boost 7950s.

I run GPU heavy BOINC projects on this machine for about 10 hours a day and with both GPUs at 100% and about 6 cores on the processor running, I top out at about 480 - 500 watts. My previous supply was a 600W PC-Power and Cooling Mk. III, an awesome supply that was unfortunately getting run ragged, and due to its Bronze rating, it was pulling about 30-40 watts more from the wall. I did not realize a Platinum rating would make such a difference, always thought it a bit of a gimmick. I have no way of testing the actual quality of the power (ripple, noise, etc.), but going by the reviews, this unit provides excellent output.

All in all, I am very pleased; probably the best power supply I have ever owned. Early review for sure, but most signs point to this unit working hard for a long time.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Power Supply

Pros: This thing is amazing. There is a switch on the rear of the unit allowing you to switch from ECO mode to regular mode for the fan. In ECO mode, the fan remains off (completely silent) until the internal temperature reaches a certain level. I'm running an i7 930, two GTX 470's, 7 fans, 4 hard drives, and played CoD for an hour without the power supply fan even coming on. I got worried about the temperature inside the unit but felt the back and it was cold to the touch. 80 plus platinum is the way to go! Don't hesitate to buy this unit.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It fit in my case. It was a great idea and price for a platinum 850w power supply.

Cons: It kept freezing my computer, and saying after rebooting my computer, "Power Supply surges detected during the previous power on."

Other Thoughts: I wish it would have been an effective power supply, would have been worth my money.

1 out of 5 eggsBad quality control

Pros: Did not come to that.

Cons: Came with a broken off wire for the 8 pin processor connector. Looked like a respectable company but I doubt it right now...

Other Thoughts: Will RMA and look at Corsair offerings...

5 out of 5 eggsBuy this PS - It is as good as they come sans hype.

Pros: Clean, accurate, and efficient power. A single 12v rail with a simple DC to DC for 5v and 3v. It is tough to find any PS under $300 that can beat this Kingwin platinum made by Flower Power. The actual max wattage for this PS is 1000W, not 850W.
It is heavy and quiet and buy it.

Cons: None.

3 out of 5 eggsMissing 12V Connector

Pros: ATX 12V v2.2 / EPS 12V v2.91, modular, Platinum

Cons: It says :Connectors... "2 x 8 pin +12V Power Connector".
Not true.
It has only 1 "4+4" 12 V Connector. I had to take a 6-pin PCI-E connector, turn it around backwards and jam it in to the 2nd 8-pin 12 V connector on my server motherboard.
The modular cable wires are all black - not color coded.

Other Thoughts: I'll buy a different power supply next time.
