Cons: Just as another reviewer described, the USB 3.0 connector came loose after less than 3 weeks of light use, lifting the traces from the board and making the item non-repairable.

Other Thoughts: If you are ok with paying extra for a USB 3.0 cable, screwdriver and a disposable enclosure that can not be used more than just a few times, this item may be right for you.

If you decide to keep this, be sure to pour some hot glue around the connector on the board before it separates.

As for me, this is the last KINGWIN-branded item I purchased.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Flimsy and poorly made. The USB connector on the back will come off of the circuit board with very little use. The second time I tried to use my drive after installation the connector came unsoldered from the circuit board. When it did, it peeled back many of the traces, so I wouldn't have been able to repair it with a soldering iron. Stay away from this poorly-made item.

Pros: Roomy case, standard cables

Cons: Could not use with any drives. The circuit board overlapped the connect so far that it was not possible to push the connect all the way in. Since there was not enough contact, drive was not recognized. I am pretty sure that the enclosure violates the SATA spec.

Also, the wires between the motherboard and the connector are not very stiff, so care must be used plugging in the the controller to the HDD.

Other Thoughts: Non-functional for me.

Pros: Umm... I paid for an extra USB3 cable and got another mini screwdriver???

Cons: It's very first enclosure I've ever assembled that the circuit board gave way and popped...

Other Thoughts: I am an IT Developer here in NYC for over 12+ years and worked with all types of technology over the years. From external parallel/SCSI/FireWire 400 & 800/ USB 1, 2 & 3 drives, I've built them all. And never in my professional experience have had one fall apart in my hands. I highly doubt newEGG will refund me...

Pros: Cheap, and has dedicated power connection which is missing on a lot of other models/brands.

Cons: low quality. The materials used are not very good. The sata/power connection is very breakable. The little pins can be broken with one little push. Be careful when you install your drive.
