3 out of 5 eggsPoor cable design

Pros: Moving the PS out of the case is an awesome concept and works great. Quiet as a mouse.

Cons: The cables that connect the PS to the computer are short, fat and stiff. A single, flexible, longer cable would be worth paying more for.

Other Thoughts: If you try to use this on a case where the PS is normally installed in the bottom of the case you will need to buy a 24 pin extender cable.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat concept power

Pros: This is a really great concept power supply. An external power supply that taking the most heat sourse outside of the case. great concept, very quiet power. If you want something that is quiet and making cool of your case at the same time, it is the power for you.

Cons: Never heard of Seventeam, I have seem XG in alot of places, and so far it power my SLI video card 7800 very well, i am happy with the stable power.

3 out of 5 eggs600w?

Pros: Quiet, stable, well put together and an amusing display

Cons: Based on the ST500EAZ 500W external PSU not the ST600EAZ external PSU.

Only 2 SATA connectors and the exterior cables are stiff.

Other Thoughts: I'm greatly disapointed in the inflated wattage claims, cuts the score neatly in half.

4 out of 5 eggsIt DOES HAVE a fan!

Pros: Quiet, keeps a heat source out of your case, runs cool, has an LED display panel that shows it's temp, current wattage, and actual "12V" output voltage.

Cons: It has a 80 mm fan! In my Pentium D RAID system, it's LCD display reports just over 100 watts used (surprised me at how low), it's temp at 40 C, and the fan kicks on and runs at a low speed that supposedly varies with load. At these conditions, the speed is very low, and the noise is very low as well, but it does make a slight humming/whirring noise that is noticable if it's right beside you in a quiet room. Don't know why the spec sheet on Newegg's site claimed: "Fans: 0".

5 out of 5 eggsmmmm quiet

Pros: soooo quiet, great informative display

Cons: from power supply to PC cables could have been a little longer.

motherboard/component connections could easily have been modular (i.e. i don't need the sata or P4 power connectors cluttering up my case)

Other Thoughts: the faults don't bring down the rating at all, this is an AWESOME power supply, really. no noise at ALL.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect....

Pros: Very well made, GREATLY reduces overall in-case temps and likewise CPU temps as well. There is ZERO noise since there is no fan. You will find that the PS is most likely the largest single heat source affecting the internals of you computer.

Cons: This is almost perfect because of two details that were overlooked. The three cables that connect from the PS to the pass through plate on should be a single, flexible, flat cable. Two, for this high-end Power Supply the internal cables should be like of the flex-force variety. I would have paid $25 more for these changes or for an upgrade.
