5 out of 5 eggsGreat power supply - OK price

Pros: Quiet, plenty of connectors, nicely arranged wiring harness, reliable so far, good price.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I used Antec supplies for years but lately I've seen a slew of failed and DOA supplies. Bought one of these last summer whem my main desktop died and I'm now buying my third to replace another dead Antec. I suppose it could be quieter, but it's already much quieter than the Antec supplies it's replacing.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent product

Pros: product run quiet, extremly quiet, Despise previous review that claimed the power supply is loud. It comes with a large fan that keeps thing very cool. I highly recommend it if you are building your HTPC system.

Cons: none so far

4 out of 5 eggsGreat price, decent PSU

Pros: Price. No lights! Pretty darn quiet. BIG fan. >80% efficiency! 500W. Did I mention no annoying lights?!

Cons: Connectors not the highest quality, mounting screws a bit off, zapped my HDD. I had to completely restore whole OS and everything, but that may have been my fault- who knows. It has an unusual (and uncomfortable) sounding buzz/zap thing the first time it powers up after initial plug in, but then never again...

Other Thoughts: This runs my 3Mb, quad core Q6600, 2 disc drives, portable HDD, 500gig HDD, and 8600GTS with no problem (yet). And very quietly at that. After the first zap of my HDD, and the sound I mentioned above, I am leaving this thing plugged in and switched on! I have not had any problems yet- but time will tell. Thank goodness for the Windows backup and restore app... This thing is not generous with the connectors by any means, but if it has what you need, who cares about having extra connectors? Just be sure to double check.

2 out of 5 eggsKeep looking - this aint the one

Pros: Fits the nmedia case.

Cons: I am only giving this a Poor rating because of the unit's loudness - NOT MUTE AT ALL. Not suited for a HTPC - even though the mfgr only makes HTPC cases and advertises this as a quiet solution. Now that I have the NMedia 400 case and this power supply not happy with NMedia at all.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Quiet Enough for HTPC

Pros: Fits well into nMedia HTPC case.

Cons: It is not appreciably quieter than other Power Supplies I have owned. Somewhat quieter but not quiet enough to be calling itself designed for HTPC needs.

Other Thoughts: I called nMedia Tech Support to see if I just had a lemon. They said their spec was 30 decibles at 1 meter. A pretty loud Mute component

5 out of 5 eggsNice and quiet

Pros: Quiet, burly enough to run a mid-level gaming machine, supposedly efficient and reliable.

Cons: Doesn't tell you the total combined amps on the +12V rails. I must claim ignorance on whether or not this is important.

Other Thoughts: This is my first build, and I went around and around about what PSU to get. There's a lot of good advice in Newegg's learning center, but one thing that gave me hell was trying to figure out the total amps on the +12V rails (which are listed as 15A and 18A, respectively). The learning center says that you can't necessarily just add the two numbers together to get the total, because the actual total might for some reason be less than that number. Yet the total is never listed in the specs for this PSU, anywhere. On top of that, the guy on my mobo's tech help line heard me say "15A on +12V1" and said that this PSU wouldn't work with my mobo (ASUS M2N). But he was kind of a yutz, and I didn't really believe him. In the end, I trusted reviews that said this PSU would work in a gaming system. It does so far.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy and Quiet

Pros: Very impressed. This unit is very quiet.

Easy install. No problems. Appeared to not want to line up at first but was just fine. Quick install as well.

Excellent power ratings, not top tier quality. Would not use it for OC'ing.

Fairly clean power.

Cons: Not a highly rated or recommended brand of PSU by those that review PSU... Probably only just over 400w combined??? Certainly not True 500w .

Other Thoughts: It is cheap and a fine PSU. I would not use it for an expensive rig.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy it for the fan!

Pros: Fan moves more air and is quieter than all my other case fans, smartest thing I've seen in a power supply. Plenty of connectors and plenty of power for my needs. 20+4 pin connector wiring is mesh wrapped so it's very clean and tight. Wire lengths are perfect. Attractive finish on unit.

Cons: Screw holes were off a little bit for my case, had to force some of the screws; not enough to be worried about, still give it my highest rating and recommendation.

Other Thoughts: Great price for the product, very well crafted. Really like that fan!

3 out of 5 eggsNot mute, not noisy, just quiet.

Pros: Quiet when compared with other components in a typical power hungry system. High quality when compared with many other products in this price range.

Cons: Not very quiet when compared with other components in the specialty market to which it belongs. For example, this was by far the loudest component in my home theater pc. I'm ramping up case airflow a bit and going fanless for the replacement PSU.

Other Thoughts: I agree with Matt below. "Mute" may be wishful thinking on their part. However, I would replace the power supply on my brother's pc with this one in a heartbeat, since his computer sounds something like an electric leaf blower with advanced asthma. So if your current system has a noisy PSU this should probably be on your shortlist of inexpensive fixes (just after vibration isolation). Just be aware that in a system where noise is part of the selection criteria for each component, this one will stick out like a sore thumb.
