Blu-ray Disc is the next-generation optical disc format that was developed to enable recording and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data.  A single-layer Blu-ray Disc can hold 25GB, which can be used to record over 2 hours of HDTV.  Blu-ray uses a blue-violet laser to read and write data while current optical disc technologies such as DVD use a red laser.  The shorter wavelengths of the Blu-ray technology make it possible to record more data on the same space.  These discs are safeguarded by Verbatim's super hard coat which protects against everyday wear and tear.  With the rapid growth of HDTV, Blu-ray will meet the consumer demand for recording HD programming and is expected to replace VCRs and DVD recorders over the coming years.
 

  • Low to High (LTH) - BD-R LTH is the same as all other Blu-ray media, except it's manufactured using a more efficient production process.

    Pros: Makes a great coaster.

    Cons: No real use for it.

    Other Thoughts: Sense BR-Drives are still in the $100 range for good one's I got no real use for this besides it being a coaster for my beverage's.

    Resists beverage rings (Hot and Cold) with unnatural tenacity!!!

    Cons: I did not like blue color but I can live with for the protection afforded to my coffee table.

    3 out of 5 eggswould not pay $3 for a single disc ever

    Pros: I am only giving it 3 eggs because it was free with one of my bluray burners and it is Verbatim

    Cons: If i paid 3 bucks for it I would give it 1 egg and be mad I could not give it negative eggs. At 3 bucks it is a terrible deal but it is a good brand and only for it being a good brand will I give it 3 eggs

    Other Thoughts: Would anyone buy 1 disc and pay shipping? you could get 10 for the price of this and shipping

    Pros: Comes with a case for disk protection. Works only once so make it count.

    Cons: Shipping cost is the killer. It is almost the cost of the disk. Someone needs to address this.

    Pros: I received this disk free with my LG Burner, and used it to test burner and software. Performed at expected speed, burned without errors, movie played on my Sony Blu-Ray player without issue.

    Cons: Free is an awesome price, but with an LG burner you only get one at that price. $3 still seems a bit expensive for a single layer 25GB BD-R. There's much cheaper media out there that is perfectly reliable, but Verbatim is a trusted name so you pay for that.

    Other con is the non-printable label. I can write on a printable label, but I can't print on a non-printable one, so I wish printable was the standard.

    Other Thoughts: the LTH format concerned me, but my burner supported it and my player had no issues playing it, so LTH is fine with me now!
