1 out of 5 eggsOOooh that smell...

Pros: Worked really well for about 10 days. Did everything you could expect from a little switch.

Cons: Luckily I was at my desk when it shorted out and started smoking. Could have ruined a bunch of other (more expensive) gear if I wasn't around.

Other Thoughts: Nice price, but I'll spend just a bit more to avoid the fire hazard.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what I need

Pros: The price, mostly. Everything else is pretty standard and no point getting too excited over.

Cons: None that I've experienced.

Other Thoughts: 8 ports and it does what I bought it for. I use it in my home LAN and have not had any issues thus far.

What more can I ask for?

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a beautiful device. It's small, uses a low voltage cable, thus saving power, and adds plenty of ports. The metal casing is nice. I would buy another one if I really needed it, because such a handy little switch is just worth the deal. No problems thus far. If you need an inexpensive solution with eight ports, this is it.

Cons: N/A

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best

Pros: The switch is great! to get an idea of the size, it's about the size of the Nintendo DS lite except slightly wider. the case is metal and the whole thing feels incredibly solid. it does the job a switch is expected to do.

On a separate note, i'm using it in a home lab in combination with a few Cisco routers to practice with and it is handling even the high level protocol just fine.

Cons: the power cord could be longer, it's only a 5 foot cord, and i really needed a 8 foot.

Other Thoughts: It's small, feels solid, and does the job it's supposed to. I had mediocre expectations and it blew those out of the water. everything is great

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Actual metal construction, zero setup required, small footprint.

Cons: None at all so far!

Other Thoughts: Perfect if you want to expand your LAN but don't need a full size switch... yet!

5 out of 5 eggsNice switch

Pros: Transfers files full speed, metal case. You can't go wrong with this little switch.

Cons: None, it does what its supposed to do.

Other Thoughts: My old 3com 12 port ( LOUD with 2 fans inside ) used 14 watts constantly. This Zonet uses 1 watt !! You will save $$$ on your energy bill.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Price/Performance

Pros: Using a Wifi router w/ one cable running to this box, being split to 7 PC's. Total of 9 on home network. Was expecting to spend time troubleshooting and setting up. No such thing. Plugged it in and all 7pc's played well and have 0 connection problems. Small footprint is a plus.

Cons: Doesn't cook for me.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid as a Tank

Pros: Super tough metal casing and electronics! fast! Outstanding price and Reliable beyond expectations!

Cons: It's kinda heavy so it hurts like a bugger when you drop it on your toe!

Other Thoughts: Had this nearly indestructible workhorse for going on 3 years now and I could not possibly complain. It was so inexpensive that I bought it as a "bang around" that could take some abuse and if it broke, big deal.

Oh, how I underestimated this little wonder!

It's survived typical LAN party abuses of being dropped, cords being yanked out/plugged in upside down and a food/drink mishap... That in itself impressed me, then add moving 300 miles, several more drops, a soaking when the roof leaked (unplugged and dried out quickly!!) and much more blatant abuse that should have killed it several times over.

Yet, it's still ticking along perfectly and providing all the ports to the living/entertainment room branch of my network.

It needs 6 eggs!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Absolutely stable, never have had to restart it. Plugged it in and it worked. It arrived right when Newegg said it would.

Cons: The power cable is a little short, but nothing a extension won't fix.

When I first started using it, I noticed my radio station that I listen to no longer came in as clear. I unplugged the power brick and the static went away. Not a real big problem, but a annoyance.

It's not Gigabit, but at this price and quality, who cares?

Other Thoughts: The little rubber pads that are supposed to stop the switch from moving around come off very easily.

Currently using two of these, and looking to get some more.

5 out of 5 eggsNice surprise

Pros: Smaller than I had expected, easily integrated into an existing network

Cons: None that I have experienced so far

Other Thoughts: I bought this simply to expand my home network by adding a few more computers and a printer...works easily and as advertised.
