2 out of 5 eggsCheap DL's, but you get what you pay for.

    Pros: Inexpensive and reputable brand.

Had issues and Verbatim offered replacements.

Cons: Unreliable, had multiple discs fail verification after being written. (approx. 1/5 of burnt discs)

1/3 of discs were unusable out of the box.

Other Thoughts: Using a BR-PX68U2 drive to burn/verify discs.

3 out of 5 eggsFails verification at 6x

Pros: These are genuine VERBAT-IMf-000 disks. Not that cheap outsourced stuff. So these are great for long term archival storage.

Cons: I tried burning several of these at 6x. All of them failed verification at exactly the 50% mark which tells me it has something to do with the 2nd die layer. They DO burn fine at 4x which is what you should be using for archival storage anyway.

The 25GB versions listed at the link below DO burn successfully at 6x.

    5 out of 5 eggsGreat BD-R DL

Pros: Verbatim HTL discs not that LTH garbage. Works perfectly burned on my ihas 212 and played with sony, PS3 and Samsung players.

Cons: Really needs to come down in price, but most likely out of newegg's control.

    5 out of 5 eggsGreat Blu-Ray 50GB package

Pros: - Not expensive if you do the math
    - 50 GB capacity
    - Light Scribe ready
    - Good brand, Verbaitem
    - 6x burn speed

    Cons: NONE!!!

Other Thoughts: I use Nero 11 Platinum and it detected and burned these disks at the rated 6x speed. No coasters and no read errors. I wish manufacturers would release up to 12x rated disks instead of only 6x. Bu Ray has been out for a while and we should see much higher burn speeds.
    I run Win7 64-bit Ultimate Edition with all updates and have 24GB DDR3 1600 with a i7 920 2.67GHz CPU.

    5 out of 5 eggs

    Pros: No coasters, great results

Cons: One spindle of 10 cost $96 after tax and shipping when I got these.

Other Thoughts: Although I had no problems with the discs, the budget for these little extras is minuscule. Will have to stick with lower capacity discs until the cost comes down to a sane level.

5 out of 5 eggssoftware helps

Pros: No coasters. As a previous poster said, it all depends. I have had nothing but great luck using a free burn program, ImgBurn. It will detect your burner and the media and select the optimum burn speed for the combination. Usually slower is better. Since letting ImgBurn calculate the burn speed from media and burner I've had no problems with most brands.

Cons: As always, price. I'm almost convinced it's a price fixing conspiracy for 50 gig discs.

Other Thoughts: I suppose having a 980 and 12 gigs of 2000Mhz ram helps as I see all 12 threads close to maxed out when burning a movie but even @ 4x I can usually get a perfect copy in less than 30 minutes.

4 out of 5 eggsBeen there Done that!

Pros: So many users are just that users not to say anything bad, but they fail to understand there are a lot of factors like the Blu-Ray Burner, the size cache it comes with, how it is connected, IDE, SATA, USB.2 or 3 and thet the operating system VISTA, XP or 7 has settings that need to be tweeked and some have not cleaned the hard drive cache or need to enlarge it SO MANY FACTOR YOU CANNOT GIVE BAD MARKS JUST BECAUSE YOU GET A COSTER. I started back when Sony had the fasted CD 2X and I can also tell you the software that you use to run with your cd, DVD, or BluRAY has a whole lot to do with the kind of burns.

Cons: If you want to help or get help tell all they need to check all of the above then change software, fix the cache or switcch off of a slow USB 2 to a faster connection and or possibly get a BluRay Burner with a larger cache however there is another question, the Manufacture/designer sometimes do great things with a small cache...I have the Lite On 212 and now Plexor is doing with a small chache what my Lite On does with 8 meg, get it the designer engineers get better with time and trial and error as well as listening to our gripes... Give them time and the price goes down too!

Other Thoughts: Best to all, check your setting after the first coaster, cross your fingers and try again is all I can tell you!
