Other Thoughts: Wish more people were producing 8x. I bought these as NewEgg was out of the 8x. Switching off of DVDs/CDs... USB keys are cheap now.

Pros: between backing up computer data and recording TV shows on my Toshiba DVD recorder, all 30 discs worked fine. with a few disc, i recorded, deleted, and re-recorded with no problems.

Cons: purchased to record tv shows on dvd recorders, 3 different units, none will format the discs. win 98 computer will not format them, win 7 computer will format after multiple attempts. now they will record on 2 of my 3 units, the third will record occasionally. only 1 of my dvdrs is able to erase the discs. the quality of the recordings is mediocre at best with extensive pixelation and sound chopping. my last set of discs(sony) have worked perfectly for a year now but are gradually wearing out.

Cons: shipping department is lacking COMMON SENSE, the spindle was put in bottom of box upside down with no packing material under it, the top of the box was stuffed with packing material, needless to say the spindle was shattered. At least the disc's appear ok. That's why I only gave 3 eggs

Pros: Verbatim is a brand name I used to trust. Newegg is a vendor with lots of great prices for items I'd like to have. But I don't call feeding DVDs into the drive and getting error after error after error something I want to have.

But hey, take a look at the hard drives they have to sell. A minimum of 7% of buyers say they got the drives DOA (dead-on-arrival) from Newegg. A whole bunch more say the drive installed ok, but died within a few months, taking all their data with it. Oh, boy, such a deal!

If you like buying from these guys, have I got a deal for you. Just send me $50 and I'll mail you a box of dirt. You won't have to feed 30 DVDs into your DVD drive to find out that they're all junk, and you won't have to mess around with your PC to see if the hard drive works or not. Just take the box and dump its contents into your backyard and kiss the $50 bucks good bye.

Cons: Oh, you want some Cons or you won't except my review. OK, I won't ever buy anything from Newegg again. I'm still looking for a good way to back up my hard drive, but nothing at Newegg is good enough for me.

Reusable, so it's perfect for timer recording of television shows that you plan to watch and erase later.

Lasts a long time even wqhen used on a daily basis.

Cons: Sometimes you get a dead disc, but it's very rare.

Other Thoughts: Using these on an LG 16x DVD burner and a Lite-On 24x DVD burner.

Pros: The Verbatum DVD+RW is on the recommended list for the two Philips DVR's I purchased (model DVDR3505 and DVDR3606). Out of 60 discs, I've had to throw two away due to getting an error message. One of these had a ding on the surface that I might have caused. I think the key is to go with the exact DVD's that the manufacturer has already found works with their machine. Maybe that's why some people think these are great and some people have very poor results.

Cons: Don't know! Out of a 30 pack I have tried 12 none have even looked like they were going to work yet.

Other Thoughts: I bought these to use to record from t.v. and transfer to computer for editing. They may be great for computer backups and stuff. My recorder tries to format them like it does all others and spits out disc error. I put in a cheap wore out Maxell that I have been using for 2 years and it works just fine. I thought Verbatim were supposed to be quality discs? I won't be buying another one.
