5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Discs!

Pros: Lightning fast writing.
Easy to use with the free LS labeling software.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Perform as they should and at a great price. I don't have any 'coasters' yet.

I love the professional look of my CDRs I pack around in my car now! People are impressed.

I'm going to keep d/ling free music off the County Library Freegal system that I'm paying for in my taxes. Build that digital music library and burn 'em onto lightscribe CDR discs!

2 out of 5 eggsincompatible

Pros: Lightscribe is cool. It means you can make discs that look more like professional spins. It also means you don't have to worry about reading your own handwriting later.

Cons: Didn't work in either of my lightscribe burners. Had to put the disc in my laptop to record, then flip it over and put it in the lightscribe burner to print the label.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if there was open source labelling software, but the binary-only lacie linux labeller at least did the job.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Slim Case

Pros: Haven't tried yet

Cons: I specifically bought this because it was described as "Slim Case" - I avoided ones labeled "Spindle". I was very disappointed to get this and see the actual box was labeled "Spindle", and no cases were included.

2 out of 5 eggsLibre Lightscribe

Pros: None

Cons: There are no Free Software (libre) applications that can utilize LightScribe, which I mistakingly assumed. It's a shame they make defective products.

Other Thoughts: HP made LightScribe, and I thought they would also support a libre LightScribe like they would their printers. Unfortunatly, this is not the case, making LightScribe impossible for me to use. I hope this changes soon.

1 out of 5 eggsLightscribe?

Pros: Date burns great

Cons: Lightscribe technology is a no go for me

Other Thoughts: I've used these in two different branded lightscribe drives and neither has recognized the lightscribe coding. The disks burn data just fine, but they won't label.
