3 out of 5 eggsThey work but they don't look so good

Pros: The coating covers the full disc enabling you to print on the entire surface of the disc.

They are -R blanks which seem to me to be the most compatible blank with home DVD players and the price was very reasonable for a pack of 50 blanks.

I have used a number of the blanks in different burners and have not created any coasters.

Cons: The coating on the surface is too thin. The flip side (media side) of the disc is dark except for the center of the disc (the hub). When you look at the printable side of the disk the center is very white and the rest of the surface is an off color of white. This is because the printable layer is allowing the dark color to bleed through the white layer. It would not be so bad if this wasn't a full surface, hub printable, blank because you wouldn't see how white the hub is versus the remainder of the surface.

Other Thoughts: I am printing the blanks in a regular multi-function printer and I have not had any issues with the ink smearing or not drying properly. All in all the discs are decent quality and record just fine. The only issue might be the surface if you are printing color illustrations on the surface where part of the illustration is on the hub and the rest is on the surface.

I am afraid that I would have to look at other brands to see if the white surface is as thin as it is on these disks before purchasing this brand again.

2 out of 5 eggsNot up to Verbatim par

Pros: Burns at 20x with the right burner. High quality, long lasting burns.

Cons: TERRIBLE printing surface. After printing disk, label was "tacky" even after sitting in front of a fan for one hour.
Sticky surface is a major FAIL for disk nobody would buy except if they wanted to print it (non-printable are cheaper).

Other Thoughts: For DRY, good quality printable disks...check out Ridata.

5 out of 5 eggsBest media on the market!

Pros: Been being Verbatim for over a decade. Barely any clusters, great longevity, strong surface, good burns.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Newegg customer service has been horrible for the past 2 years. It took me 4 months of constantly calling back supervisors who never return calls or take care of issues to get my problems resolved, and they still aren't after all this time and a settlement. I have not received what was promised, and my issue was resolved after almost a half a year. It has become a hassle getting through, every call takes a half hour to get through, then no ONE WANTS TO HELP OUT, IT'S RIDICULOUS. (4 supervisors and not one returned my call as promised, I had to constantly call back).

5 out of 5 eggsAlways worked great

Pros: Always worked for me. No issues with any DVD players.

Cons: Slightly higher cost than El Cheapo brands

Other Thoughts: I have had soem issues with other disks, but Verbatim disks seem to be readable by more players and have never had any quality issues.

3 out of 5 eggsPaper top surface

Pros: If you have the correct printer it has a paper top surface (iDon'

Cons: The paper surface possibly.

Other Thoughts: I didn't pay attention when ordering that the discs have the printable paper surface, but I have been able to write on it easily, so it's ok. I can use a pen, does'nt have to be a marker.

3 out of 5 eggsWeird batch

Pros: I've had years and years of pure bliss with these discs. Gone through about 5 years without making one coaster. Now? Not so much.

Cons: In the last two years, I'm getting coasters with the same burners. Wasn't enough to switch quite yet, but the last cakebox is really disappointing as I'm getting coasters 1:4.

The DiscInfo tool still reports the same make and model with Nero, Quality is high...but I'm getting coasters left and right even down to 8x. Switched to AquaAce 96552 and 200 discs went through perfectly.

I'm fine with the printing quality on these 95079's, but I no longer like that they're un-usable for the most part. Feels like I'm being baited to upgrade when the OLD stuff was just fine.

Samsung, Plextor, Pioneer, Lite-on...I'm trying to find a silver lining but can't. These once perfect discs are degrading in this home. Something's changed, and it isn't on this end.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure what's going on. I may have bad luck, but I'm still at a conservative 1:4 after 3 cake boxes of this product and other Verbatim work perfectly as these use to be acting. I use to trust these for years and would print them out before the burn, now I burn and test before printing (cost of ink).

I'd just be leery. I use to give them 5 stars, but stars change...

4 out of 5 eggsGood Discs, Slow Shipping

Pros: Good price for a 50 pck of the best DVD-Rs around.
Inkjet printable
16X write speed

Cons: I don't have any use for the injet printable feature as I have no printer. So I am left with a ugly plain white disc. Minor complaint though and no fault of the product.

Extremly slow shipping. Took 5 Days to get here. Unlike NewEgg to be slow out the gate. Minus an egg for that one.

2 out of 5 eggsDissapointed

Pros: Burning is solid. No errors

Cons: The printable surface is too soft. When you print on this surface, the ink always feels wet. the image soaks up the oils from your hands and discolors. I've been printing on Verbatim media for years with the same printer and never had this problem before. Either they changed their production methods or this is a bad batch.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat media

Pros: I have been using this media now for several years in production of my dvd's I do for pageants, weddings, and special events. I have never had a bad burn once and I have used Samsung drives as well as lite-on and sony. Every dvd player that I have used recognizes the media and plays it well. I love the printable surface and so does my epson printers that print directly to the disk.

Cons: have not found one yet.

Other Thoughts: I hate the stick on labels because the disk hops due to the unbalncing of the disk. Also you could loose a stick on label in your player if the glue is not good and gets hot. I have seen where stick on labels start coming up after usage.
