5 out of 5 eggsTDK 700MB 52X CD-R 100 Packs Spindle Discs Model 48555

Pros: No coasters so far(used around 20% of stack). No problems with packaging or shipping. Infact the case is a screw on with threads not a 3 tab system that can slip off of base.

Cons: nothing to mention.

Other Thoughts: Some people complained about open packages being sent but mine was properly packaged and padded, so either it was caused by a shipping company or Newegg has resolved the issue. these seem to be holding up as well as the last CD's I bought(Sony).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat to have on hand to burn CD's for backup/partition software.

Pros: TDK is among the best of CD's I've ever used & most certainly the most of (see more in 'Other').
TDK Quality, though CD's aren't the kick of this decade, there will always be a need for this media for at least another 10-15 years.

Cons: Sleeve arrived partially broken at opening seam, probably happened during shipping, fortunately the box was tight enough to prevent CD's from being everywhere. So at least I didn't have to open the product :-)

Other Thoughts: Not a lot to say about a CD, either the brand is garbage or it's a good one, and TDK has always been one of my 'go to' brands, even if the parent corporation has changed hands, some reviewers has stated this. What counts the most is that I've burned thousands of CD's with these, and only 2 were coasters. And I blame that on my well worn out notebook optical drive that was wobbly & the entire unit ran hot, so these factors could have easily led to the coasters. One must have an adequate burner to produce perfect burning jobs, especially those nearing the 700MB mark.

Though CD's has their heydays back in the 80's-90's, there's still lots of good use of this media. Back/partition software is upgrading all the time, and why waste a DVD to burn what's a 200MB ISO? These CD's fits the bill for these jobs, and will continue to for a lone time to come.

TDK is one of the better brands out there, with a near perfect blend of quality & price.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT DEAL

Pros: I picked these up on sale from Newegg at an un beliveable low price (and when Newegg does a deep dive on prices nobody can touch them) and while the CD technology is beginning to slip by us, I still have a lot of friends who I burn audio CDs for. When you can pick up CD-Rs for about a dime a piece it is a good thing (in my mind anyways). I have already burnt about twenty and not a "stinker" so far.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have read some of the other reviews that have criticized these quite severely...I do not get it. If they were that bad I would have thought that 20% through the stack that I would have found at least one bad one. Sometimes I wonder about those who write completely crushing reviews when most people are at least moderately satisfied. I wonder if those people could survive critiques about their reliability????

5 out of 5 eggsWell some decent CD-Rs at a really great price of $12 for a 100 Pack! Can't beat that price point...............................................................

Pros: Nice and clear to write on with a sharpie marker without the name or description getting in the way.

Burn fine with my $20 Asus DVD-RW and my $100 Pioneer BD-RE optical drives!

Cons: None!!!! Don't understand how some people can blame media with there NoteBook computers that will work with other media?

(See other)

Other Thoughts: I have been in I.T. since back in 1993 and have been there when CD-Rs were first introduced on the market. It was an exciting time to be able to create CD-Rs that sounded just as good as the $20 CD audio disks basically made the exact same way.

One of my many pet peeves is when end users blame new media for not working with there super cheap optical burner whether it's a DVD-RW or a BD-RE drive. The reason these people have this problem is more based on there ultra cheapo OEM optical drive and not the new way the media is being manufactured!

If you go through life buying the pre-built Note Books and Mid Tower computers from Dell and HP you can expect to have media issues eventually! Hey technology does not just stop when your running a older Note Book or Mid Tower Pre-built computer that is using the NEC or other elcheapo optical drives that are not even available to those of us that build are own computers.

We who pick and chose are own parts know how to do some research to get the best internal computer parts at the price we are willing to pay! If you never read HardOCP or Toms hardware then your not going to have a well built computer with the proper internal hardware that will last!

I have never, I mean not a single time run into a piece of media that was new that my DVD-RW or BD-RE can't burn to perfectly!

So I have no mercy for those types of people that just love to blame media for changing, since changing the way media is created with new dyes keeps the price down to the 12 cents a disk 100 pack I just bought on sale! These disks will work just fine on both my optical drives and last me well over a year to boot!

If you chose to buy horribly cheap pre-built computers then deal with the new media dyes and quit your complaining because I'm so very tired of hearing people blame and complain when they picked that horrible computer in the first place.

If you run into a new dye that your burner will not burn then it's time to buy a new $20 burner and stop complaining about the 8 year old OEM optical drive that Dell decided to use as they buy those super cheap NEC optical drives in lots of 10,000 or more!

CD-Rs are CD-Rs and that's, that...........................................................................................................................

1 out of 5 eggsNew Imation made Tdk's are junk

Pros: none

Cons: junk

Other Thoughts: I had a large stash of TDK's from back when TDK was a quality name and have used 100's and 100's with no problems. Well I bought these new imation made discs (black packaging -neweggs pic still shows the old ones) and they will not work in my HP NEC DVD writer. I called Imation/tdk tech support and they were just pitiful. They blamed everything but their discs. -My computer was too old , my drive was too old, my drive was bad... said I needed to replace my drive... So I went to local computer store and bought new cd-r's from Verbatim, HP, and Value disc - and guess what -all three worked perfectly! I called imation back and told them and they just gave me more Blah, blah, blah. I asked them to take them back and they wouldn't -said they were not defective. -Pitiful -just pitiful. I called Newegg and told them about it and they immediately issued an RMA with a ups call tag for return shipping!- Newegg treats their customers right! I should also mention that the new packaging / spindle is flimsy cheap junk. One didn't even make it though shipping - spindle broke, lid popped off and I had discs all over the box! It is a real shame that the tdk name (which once meant top quality recordable media) has now become this!

3 out of 5 eggsBroken Case

Pros: I really like TDK discs for burning of all kinds. Seems to be most reliable.

Cons: Disc spindle case arrived broken at bottom. The whole thing tips and is unreliable. As I don't have other old spindles to transfer these new discs to, it is a bit annoying. I am sure the disc case was damaged in shipping.

Other Thoughts: Not sure what can be done for a broken case. The discs will probably be unaffected, but 100 blanks don't sit well by themselves.

3 out of 5 eggsTDK CD 100 pack

Pros: Received in one piece, good buy I am satisfied with New Egg (BUT)

Cons: I am not very happy with the shipper.
I would rather use "UPS" or even "USPS" period.
I live in the country and this shipper left a $800.00 package hanging on my mail box where I can't see it or don't even know it is there. my mail box is 400 feet from my house and I can't see If anything is hanging on it.
my neighbor just happened to come to visit and found the package before someone else just took it off the mail box and went on down the road with it... also I ordered the cd's on 3/6/15 they didn't ship until 3/9/15 and I didn't receive until 3/17/15.........

Other Thoughts: DON"T USETHIS SHIPPER (USE SNAL MAIL AND IT WOULD GET FASTER)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as described overburning up to 90min OK

Pros: I've used these heaps for audio and mp3 cds for the car, no coasters. I also have done OVERBURNING up to about 90 minutes @ 16X, I haven't tried further. They all worked just fine. There is nothing more to say about these. They are a commodity item. .

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: None
