5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely No Problems

Pros: I have been using these for nearly a year, and have Zero Coasters. I use them for movies and data. but I do generally burn at a slightly slower speed than what my DVD recorders are capable of, I do this with all CD's and DVD's

Cons: I wish they had a LiteScribe version

Other Thoughts: I would and have recommended these disks, they seem to be of the highest quality

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Stuff

Pros: TDK is a trusted product and have had nothing but good things to say throughout many many years of TDK's products. No problems had maybe one or two discs not work but cant say if it is TDK's product, my burner, dirty disc or what. I would recommend this product and will buy again.

Cons: NONE, one or two discs could not burn but that happens sometimes with any disc manufacturer. No complaints, no big deal.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: None - zero.

Cons: Lots

Other Thoughts: Well, I bought these when Newegg had a sale on them, about $11 for the 25 discs. I read the reviews and decided to give them a try due to the inflated high price of the Verbatim DL discs. Well, I've gone through about half of the spindle, and of those, only 2 have burned successfully. And of the 2, one had stuttering issues so bad at the layer break that it was just about un-watchable. I'm not sure who is writing the positive reviews for these discs on here, either TDK employees, or people paid by TDK to write the positive reviews. What a waste of my money. I'll be contacting TDK to try and get back my hard earned money, but at the least, this will be the last TDK discs that I buy. Oh, and my DVD burner has the latest firmware, and I was burning on the lowest possible speed, so that wasn't the problem. They are just junk discs.

2 out of 5 eggsTDK 8.5GB 8X DVD+R DL 25 Packs

Pros: TDK is well known and one of top company for blank media industry. They make well DVD+R. Overall, this is great product with good price.

Cons: The case is totally cracked. The top and bottom of case are totally destructed so that could make damages and scratch on top and bottom discs. I just dumped those two discs as I unwrapped the box. Newegg shipped with no bubble form or wrap.

Other Thoughts: I give two stars for this order. I would like to give 5 stars for the DVD+R, but the case was cracked and I wasted the top and bottom discs so I give only two stars.

5 out of 5 eggsTDK DL DVD's

Pros: They are the most flexible DVDs I have found, both here and while overseas assigned to Japan. I got 4 packs of the 25 disks with my discount for $36.91. Outstanding quality for both Video recording as well as large Data storage. Won't buy Maxwell or other brands again.

1 out of 5 eggsTruly Shocking

Pros: + Price was good on sale and after the now-expired coupon. They were already marked down quite a bit (thirteen bucks) plus a two dollar off code so they ended up costing about eleven dollars to my door with ShopRunner 2-day.

+ Minimal branding logo and specs printed on the face which leaves ample room to write on them.

+ The gray-tinted, mirror-like surface is also very sharpie-friendly and makes for clean labeling.

Unfortunately, aesthetics and cost are about the only upside to these and the very cheap price (as most NewEggers will recognize) was only temporary due to a sale + coupon code.

Cons: - Failure rate, a truly shocking and incredibly irritating failure rate.

So far, I have tried 17 out of 25 discs and so far, all 17 of those are in a coaster stack. Yes, ALL 17 of them have failed with a Write Error at some point during burn. Only one disc limped along and survived into verification...it failed verify at 49% ("Failed to Read Sector 2112448 - Reason: L-EC Uncorrectable Error").

The majority of these burns have failed around the layer-break anywhere between 48% and 62%, spitting out I/O Write Errors in ImgBurn. A couple managed to reach 76% and 79% but eventually returned with the same I/O errors for those sectors. The worst ones (about three discs to this point) were unable to even successfully write the entire LeadIn track before regurgitating an error.

There is not much to review about optical media. The most important things are quality and success rate. Disappointingly, both factors fell quite flat in my experience.

Other Thoughts: This is the first time I have ever strayed from Verbatim for dual-layer media (I have always used the 2.4x variety of Verb DVD+R DL) and I have been completely let down and frustrated by these TDK's. Obviously, "your mileage may vary," and I just hope that you have more success than I did if you indeed opt for these discs over Verbatim. Cost difference becomes moot if the bulk of discs end up in a landfill.

Burn attempts with:
* BenQ DW1640 on PATA @ 4x and 8x.

* LiteOn iHAS324B on SATA, eSATA and USB @ 4x and 8x using a slew of various EEPROM options to no avail.

I have since reverted back to the settings that always worked prior to what has essentially turned out to be an annoying quality-control measure for TDK. (iHAS drive external on USB @ 4x with all EEPROM options turned on)

4 out of 5 eggsLove Newegg, hate the delivery company

Pros: Love Newegg, love their selection online & their fast deliveries, but...

Cons: For the SECOND time, I received an order that was literally dropped at the front door, no one knocked or rang the doorbell. Last time was free shipping, this time I PAYED for shipping, yet same result. Not too thrilled with On**ac...

2 out of 5 eggsDual Layer

Pros: Can write on with felt tip.
I burn 95% fine with no fails--must be these people junk computers.
Upgrade your parts---right here on newegg!

Cons: Costs more than blu ray!

Other Thoughts: Why do these DVD's cost more than BluRays?
That is absurd.
.80 cents a disc max price, .44 cents a disc on sale super cheap....44 cents a disc!?!?!?
A blu ray is only .38-.42 per disc.

This is unacceptable.
